Personally, I find habit tracking really useful. In case you feel the same - or want to give it a try - here is an easy way for you to do so. See which of these three popular habit-tracking plugins is right for you. You can follow along and build your own tracker or download the free "Lean Habits" vault at kspr.me/lhb. As always, let me know your thoughts - I appreciate all the feedback!
Hello I hope you can make a video about Journaling and Goal setting too. Amazing channel, this came in hand before the new year. I've been an on and off user of Obsidian but I never get to actually work with it. I wonder though how you can integrate this on the lean vault?
I have an idea for goal setting/management. But since I don't really journal myself, I am not sure I can give any meaningful insights in that regard. For integrating vaults into the free lean starter vault, see: wiki.sascha-kasper.com/obsidian/lean-vaults/setup/lean-vaults-integration-guide/
Thank you. I use the "metadata menu" plugin to define frontmatter fields that use lookup notes to list possible values for a field. Here is a full tutorial: th-cam.com/video/kqx6KHniMCc/w-d-xo.html
Thank you! nice video. However, I am encountering a problem when I try to nest the tracker data in a Callout. It visually displays my the tracker callender but the tracker itself does not update automaically. Do you have the same problem? Are there any ways to fix this? thx in advance!
Thank you. I don't have this issue, tbh. Could you share the markdown block with the callout? Not necessarily here. You can email me or catch DM me on discord, bluesky, or twitter. All links are in my profile.
Thanks for this super helpful video! Do you know which of the plugins would be best for charting daily and weekly habit score trends? For example, if I am tracking 5 daily habits and I complete 4 habits on a given day, that's an 80% habit score for the day (and a similar calculation for the week).
@@leanproductivity Yes, let's take the simple case of 1/0 values. I'm thinking one simple method is to define a daily formula called "daily habit score" that sums all the individual habit values, then I can just use heatmap or a tracker chart to plot this. Would this be the best approach? Thanks again!
@@nikhilmaddirala not sure how to get this into a heatmap or chart. i managed to write a dataviewjs query that checks the current note's frontmatter, counts all boolean properties and then calculates the percentage of those that are "true". but i have not yet found a way to use these results in a chart or heatmap.
@@leanproductivity That's a bummer, but thanks so much for looking into it! It could easily be accomplished with a custom python script automation I guess, but that's more work!
I tried to merge it with the other obsidian vaults but it doesn't work properly, I followed the guide you provided when merging CRM lean. I also can't open the Books Dashboard. I need help! 😅
Hi. I would need to see what is happening to have a better idea of how to help you. Any chance of having a call with screen share? Feel free to email me(at)sascha-kasper.com or get in touch on Discor (discord.gg/sbMg6PP2vq).

You are a great teacher
Thank you. I have a lot of respect for teachers, so this means a lot to me.
thank you! this is one of the most helpful obsidian tutorials i’ve seen 🙏
Happy to hear that! Thank you for your kind feedback.
What an amazing video... and the best
I did understand.
Thanks... a lot.
@@maurolimaok Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm glad to hear that.
@@leanproductivity My pleasure. This channel is really helpful, in a real way, for me.
comprehensive guide!
Thank you so much 🙂
I'm using Tracker plug-in, one habit per note for workouts, meditation...etc. then I use Canvas to layout each graph and calender on a dashboard.
@@brianwongThat sounds very neat. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for the video. Can you please tell me how to make it possible to select circles (yellow, green, red) in the properties in the sleep section?

Already found, it is done by Update time on edit plugin 👍
Just saw that you found it. That is indeed the plugin I am using.
