I actually don't like this video, seems like they're trying too hard to be weird. All the animated videos are fantastic and the other live action ones (mostly Inspire the Liars and Zoloft) were really good too. This one was probably the worst video so far imo, even That's What I Like's stock footage was better.

I had given up on post hardcore music. Most of it had turned to shit. Then I found Dance Gavin Dance and I'm so happy. They're too fucking good.

People freaking out over DGD releasing new music so soon. They always had the intention of putting an album out every 18 months or so. The Jonny drama pt1 and pt2 dampened that, and now that Tilian proved he's stable in the band, Will confirmed an album every 2 years until 2018. Then, they are going to consider all options including disbanding if DGD doesn't progress further. So the next album is very important. All the die hard fans are going to stick with the band no matter what, but if new fans don't come in, DGD just isn't sustainable career wise anymore. Be happy for new music, but don't forget to buy the albums. Go to the shows. Rep the merch and most importantly, spread the word.
I'm not doubting you, but I'm curious where you got the idea that in 2018, all options, including disbanding DGD, are gonna be considered?
Brucifer I forget where I heard it but in an interview with Will Swan after Mothership was released he said that the option of disbanding is still a possibility.
+Animals As Leaders Fair enough, but, if I'm understanding OP's comment correctly, the disbandment of DGD would come from it not being "sustainable career wise." That makes it sound as though DGD is in decline, but that just doesn't seem true to me. They're not yet as big as bands like Pierce the Veil were a few years ago, but they're certainly one of the biggest names, and they have been for quite some time. Bands with much smaller fanbases and reach are having no trouble "sustaining" themselves.
Brucifer Yeah I don't really remember the reason Will gave for there still being a possibility of the band breaking up but I just know he said it a recent interview. I can't seem to find the interview now or else I would have linked it.

Angel Catalan Issues too! And light up the sky, crown the empire,like moths to flames among others. Rise is the best imo. I really miss their older bands (of machines , woe is me) and still salty about Rise dropping secrets and letting go of hands like houses and Emarosa.

Their tours are still on the smaller side, and being on the mainstage of warped is the basically the biggest thing they've done so far. I wouldn't call them underground either.
They occupy that huge gulf in between mainstream and underground.
Mud Kips, you have an odd definition of mainstream. When your band has multiple youtube videos nearing or over 1 million views within mere months of posting them, your mainstream. As a radio DJ myself, I can assure your DGD gets more airtime than you think, especially on college radio. Iron Maiden gets almost no radio play, but they are a huge band. PS, MTV interviews don't mean shit. They don't even play music anymore.

This song helped keep me sane that summer of '17. It's hard to truly like this song anymore because of all the memories surrounding it, but also easy to enjoy because I'm past it all and in a much better place.

God, these guys are so unique. Easily one of my favorite bands they never disappoint. From the funk elements in the music, the crazy guitar riffs, the unique vocalists, to the strange interesting lyrics for sure a phenomenal band.
Can't ever get enough them, especially Jon mess. I want to watch them live over and over again. Best moments of my life are singing along with them in a room full of sweaty awesome people. I sing my damn heart out

I don't think this band knows how to make bad music if they tried. One of the most consistent and high quality bands out there. They literally never stop.
