      Lol that's how it happened. Thanks mate, I'm happy with it. The body looked strange to me at first but I think instead of a scale body you'd find on a Sand Scorcher and Monster Beetle, I think maybe they were aiming for the look of a full fibreglass body of some race buggies. This looks great, the wife just painted a body for her bad bug. The thing looks beautiful, I rebuilt the diffs and it's a beast. She just bought a 6s Kraton so I'm going to get a Kyosho or a Tamiya. Just put badlands on the losi 8ight and that things so fast on 6s it's a laugh. Better start looking for a Kyosho or a Tamiya. Take care mate and thanks for the build.

      @@RCHobbyShed The choice is so hard, they all look great and go quick enough for some fun. Biggest worry is I won't be able to stop building these beautiful cars and I'll need a second garage . Rc cars are very addictive and the fun is too good. Kyosho has always impressed me with the quality and they look great. Better check your videos again unless you have a recommendation for a nice beast. Thanks for teaching us mate ,I learn a lot from you.

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@petergoodwin2465 It is a hard choice. If you're looking at the Tomahawk, Beetle, Scorpion or Turbo Scorpion, they're much the same buggy. Apart from the Tomahawk having the radio deck instead of the tub like the others. The Ultima is awesome too, but totally different to the others. It is probably the best of the bunch although it doesn't have so much of the scale look that the others have. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. MAYBE as far as reliability goes, the Ultima might be a little better and there's less metal parts to come loose. Of course if you keep an eye on the others and keep things tight that won't be an issue. All I can say is, Just Do it✔ 🤣👍

  • @charlesyeung475
    @charlesyeung475 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    tidy and beautiful build. I just bought it yesterday. My friend has one too but he told me that the decal quality is not as good as Tamiya and the they could not stick on the shell firmly. Do you have the same problem too?

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Charles. Congrats on your Beetle purchase, I'm sure you will be very happy with it!
      As for the decals, I found they're actually very good. The only issue I had is around the headlights, the decals are quite thick and they need to be bent over the tops of the headlights. So they tend to lift in this area. Some clear Acrylic paint brushed over the edge of the decals can help or a small amount of glue.
      Then rest of the decals were fine for me, no issues at all. 👍

      It is up the pipe, at 5:41 you can see the wire running down the back of the tube. But it looks like it's just dangling at first, I did that on purpose because I knew I had to put the ESC underneath it later. 👍

    Hello, I discovered by chance on your TH-cam channel while searching how to paint my kysoho beetle.
    Very good video, and your channel is top!!! you must spend a lot of time to do all this.
    I wanted to ask you to confirm the paint job because this is my first RC body that I'm going to paint.
    I need two coats of yellow, let it dry, then 2 coats of camel yellow, let it dry, then one coat of white and finally one or two coats of black?
    Your pilot is very well detailed, I'm thinking of doing mine with a brush, is that a good idea?
    Continue like that on your constructions it's great!

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! Thanks for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
      Yes, that is the paint combination I used. For me it seems to work well and the colour matches the wheels nicely.
      Thanks. Painting the driver with a brush will be fine, it will look great 👍
      Thanks mate! 👍

    • @DidyRacing41
      @DidyRacing41 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RCHobbyShed The problem with your videos is that now I want to mount the whole legendary collection 🤣🤣🤣🤣
      But I was wondering if I let the yellow paint dry before putting the Camel paint, won't the two paints mix?
      and the shade will not be good?
      Sorry I'm a total beginner in body painting

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DidyRacing41 Haha, have fun collection them all! 😁
      No mate it will be fine as long as the coats aren't very heavy and wet, you want reasonably light coats just enough so it's not patchy. I tend to let each colour dry for around 5 minutes then hit it with the next colour.
      You can practice on the side of used plastic soft drink bottles first as a test. Good luck, I'm sure it will turn out fine! 👍

      @@RCHobbyShed Hello, it's me again 😁😁
      I'm about to order all the paint for my beetle and my turbo scorpion.
      I saw how you painted the pilot of your tomahawk, and I was wondering if the Tamiya Mini X paint ... would go to paint the pilots? because here in France my seller says that this paint can't go on it.
      I don't want to buy a lot of paint cans of different colors just for the pilots because you don't need much paint 😀

    Great looking buggy. You did a great job. Can’t find these online now, at least in the USA. A few of the larger online distributors say they’ll get them again in late May but who knows if that’ll happen with all the craziness going on now. So, a few coats of yellow, then backed with camel yellow, then white, then black? How many coats of yellow did you do before camel yellow?

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks mate! I hear ya, there is a few buggies I'm looking for right now and not finding (without crazy prices). My girlfriend want a Beetle too so I hope they bring more out soon. Yeah, just a light coat of yellow then a good coat so it's all even, then back with camel yellow. You can leave it there, but I did another even coat of yellow just so the inside and outside were the same... Then if you want the black interior, you can do a coat of white (so the black doesn't come through), then a coat or two of black. 👍

  • @71Dragtruck
    @71Dragtruck ปีที่แล้ว

    How thick did you have the base coat of PS-6 before you did some coats of PS-19? Could you see through it still? I was going to try PS-6 and back it with 13 silver then black, but I like how yours turned out and would like to try it instead. Thanks.
