The skirt is great! What a versatile piece. Having nice pajamas is such a great feeling, I've almost always worn a men's big t-shirt to sleep, or a men's old-fashioned flannel nightshirt. When I started traveling for work I invested in nice PJs and I really appreciate them now. I pray for the best possible outcomes for your mom. It's tough to be away at times like this so I'm glad you have siblings you trust to keep you posted.

Love the skirt and white shirt. Very pretty. My husband and I are going to the same thing with his mom except he doesn’t have any siblings helping him. It is very overwhelming for him. But he’s doing a great job because he loves her and only wants the best for her. That’s all you can do is remember that you are making these decisions for her.
Hi Laura! 💜 It really is difficult. But her situation is complicated by the fact that she fell and fractured her femur, and since then, she's had a mini stroke. She forgets she has a broken bone and keeps taking herself to the restroom using her walker in the rehab facility. Consequently, it's not healing so she's not able to start physical therapy. This is part of the reason I'm waiting to go out there. I will do her more good when she finally leaves the facility than to just go and sit with her now. And she won't remember I was there when I go back home. (TMI - I'm sorry!)

Hello Nancy Anne. So sorry to hear that your Mom has gotten worse. Its so hard to wrap your head around having to make decisions that is in their best interest. Prayers for her and you and your siblings. I had both my Husband and Mom bed bound at the same time. They both passed within less than four months apart. It took quite a toll on me, but the Good Lord saw me thru the journey. I see you kept the pjs. When things settle down you can also request the skirt and jeans in another box. Ruger is precious. I've had two boxers and they are so funny and mischievous sonetimes. Thanks Sam for the bloopers, loved them. Take care of you, I didn't and it took a toll on my body. Blessings to you, my dear!

I am taking care of myself - keeping up on my Bible study, quiet time, and exercise, plus eating better. I have to be healthy to handle everything well.
I would have kept the jeans and the white top because they looked so great on you plus I think you would get the most use out of them.

Hi Nancy Anne, I am so happy your husband said let’s do it. I thought everything looked great on you. Your legs look great in heals but only if they are comfortable. Your husband’s blooper insert always brings a smile. Tell Ruger that MeMaw Marianne would have treats for him. I will keep your Mom and all of you in my prayers. My Dad went through memory loss so I understand. ❤️🙏

My maternal grandmother also experienced dementia. It has me concerned about what my children might deal with regarding me.
@@nancyannesunboxings I too have dementia in my family. I have talked with my grown daughters. My oldest helped me with my Dad her grandfather. We could not care for him at home as he was demanding and could get very mean. We were able to get him in a very good memory care assisted living with his retirement. I visited him everyday after work. I did have to move him to my state as I working full time could not look out for him otherwise.
@marianne57 I really admire what you have done for your father. It's not easy when they aren't being kind and are being uncooperative.
Mom stoically refused to move closer to any of her children. We all predicted something like this and asked her to move closer to us. When she gets out of this facility, she will be moving to an assisted care facility nearer my brother an hour away from her. She just doesn't know it yet.
Unfortunately, I can not handle her at this juncture with a disabled son and husband. The best time for her to move would have been several years ago. When I asked her to move near me, things were less overwhelming on my end.
@marianne57 BTW, Mom was admitted to the rehabilitation facility with a fractured femur. Since then, she has had a mini-stroke, which is not helping with her memory, and she's become very emotional. She keeps forgetting she has a cracked bone and uses the walker to take herself to the restroom, which further backs up her release date. It needs to heal before she can start physical therapy.
Everything looked amazing, especially those jeans! New subscriber :). I just did my first stitch fix order in 7 years, I hope my haul is as good as yours was.

Sending positive thoughts for your family. Memory issues are so hard to deal with. For the box...too bad the shoes are uncomfortable. I used to wear heels all the time, too. The only thing about the pj's is the string and knot would bug me when I sleep.
Hey Melissa! There's more going on than the memory- A lot more. The memory is just making it more difficult.
I gave my self Morton's Neuroma by wearing heels constantly, so now they're only for special occasions and I kick them off as soon as I can. I wish they'd of fit- They were so cute!
The skirt, white top and shoes looked great together but if the shoes aren't comfortable then definitely you don't want to keep them, Nice as the top is, another white top or blouse will work with the skirt. Comfy pj's are great to have. The jeans looked great too but might be something that you can live without. Nice box and reasonably priced too.

Glad to see you! Hope life is settling a bit as you work thru what’s being thrown in your path. It’s been 2 years since I ended the caretaker role for my parents - feelings are still a little raw in that area, it’s hard. I feel for you. Sending prayers & positive thoughts to your family.
Hopefully, the box was a nice distraction for you… a little retail therapy never hurts. Liked the jeans & the skirt. Didn’t like the top so much when you modeled it with the skirt, but then it looked terrific with the jeans! Not sure what /why the difference??! The PJ’s - yes!

Things are worsening with my mom- In addition to the fractured femur and memory loss, she's had a mini stroke since being there. It's difficult to know how to time my trip. I really feel I can do the most good coming out when she leaves the facility. But we do not know when that will be because she keeps having setbacks.
If you like the shoes enough to try something, I've learned that when shoes *almost* fit, put on a thick sock - and run a hot hairdryer over the hot spots for 40 seconds or so. Wear the shoe with the sock until the shoe cools back to room temperature - and you might just have a fit. I've done it with a lot of shoes.

@@nancyannesunboxings I am a fan of The Root Collective shoes - They're all handmade - so it's not unusual to mold them a little. After that they're great. I've been all over the world in those shoes!

The first outfit looks like scrubs so ok for pjs. Shoes are gorgeous but very high (I'm envious of anyone who can wear heels now as my heel wearing days are long gone).
Hi Sheila! 💜 Those pajamas are so ding-danged comfortable that the color doesn't bother me. 🙂 And I still love a good heel, but they need to fit right. Even then, I usually kick them off as soon as I sit down wherever I'm going. 🤣
I am here if you need any advice or just another lady to talk too. I just lost my dad on 12/31/23 due to kidney failure and advanced stage 7 Vascular Alzehemiers. The nursing home he was at FAILED to schedule a stent removal procedure in July 2023 and therefore caused his death because with dementia you are NOT a candidate for dialysis. I wish you the absolute best in finding the best care for your mom because some home placements may seem nice but are very neglectful to the residents. That is what happened with my dad. Thank you for the haul. ❤
Hi Courtney! 💜 I'm so sorry for the passing of your dad. That's awful! He died the same day Mom fell and fractured her femur. She's a heart and kidney patient - she was on dialysis for 3 years and has been very vocal she never wants to go back on. She'd rather meet her maker. We have a Senior Living Advisor who is helping with finding an assisted living home closer to my brother.

Praying for your mom. My mom has been in rehab for a year and a half. I get it.
I love my pajama sets! They are my THING! 😆 I love gifting pajama sets to my daughter and dil's.
The next Nordstrom anniversary sale, buy yourself a set of the Nordstrom brand pajamas. They have a cute piping. You would wear a large, not XL. I own... many pairs! The Nordstrom Rack pajama sets are NOT the same material or same fit. They look the same, but very different in quality.

A year! Wow! Mom's situation has been complicated by the fact that in addition to memory loss, she's had a stroke since going to the rehab facility on New Year's Eve Day with a fractured femur. One of the reasons I wait to go out is because I feel. I can do her more good when she leaves the facility. If I were to go out now and stay a bit to comfort her, she would forget I was there soon after I left.
@@nancyannesunboxings That is so hard Nancy. You should probably go either way- if she remembers or not. My mom has so much anxiety she can hardly go through a day without wanting to go to ER! She is extremely healthy but refuses any medication for anxiety. It’s a tough one. It makes me think about how I want to act, be, treat my family when- I hopefully, reach that age.
Very difficult to age. Attitude and gratefulness plays a big part.

I'll pray for your mom. I've lost both my parents; I'm blessed with 2 sisters and a brother and their families. I'm a widow, 12 years now. My daughter died 2 years ago. It's just my son and I. But God is good and is taking us through. I know He has you in His arms. ❤

Sam had only done the first two bloopers (he was in a hurry because of grading), and I told him to go back and look at the section he missed. I thought my viewers would enjoy it. (Although I would have cut it a little differently.)
Can you believe the only thing I kept was the pajamas? I slept on it, as usual, and woke up thinking "Get real! The only thing you can truly use from the is the pajamas." So in the end practicality won out!

Hey my dear friend! I’m finally getting into watching some TH-cam, not a lot but getting there…. I’m sure everything has long gone back but I thought I’d let you know what I think… everything looked good on you, my favourites were the top and skirt, they looked fabulous together and I know you would get wear out of them. The pjs are a little scrub looking but as you said who is going to see you! They looked comfortable and the only down side I saw to them was the colour, not the best in the world but certainly not offensive! ..the jeans were nice, different kind of wash and I too liked the different pockets… given the the shoes were painful and possibly a bit high it was obvious that those would be being returned. I did like the more modern heel however, very sexy! …. I agree with your choices on what to keep, with upcoming spendy things looming it’s best to stick with the least amount of items. In dream land the clothing would have been great to choose it all but I think the pjs and skirt are/were the right option. .. sending my love and hugs to you, Sam and Ruger and hope that things get better soon. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗😘
