This band will probably be my all time favorite “technical death metal” band. I’ve seen them twice with 6 years break between both concert. And yet does they still kick arse.

Those dudes were here last week in Atlanta and hands down one of the best shows I've ever seen from a small stage metal band. Fuckin go Gorod and fuckin go Psycroptic!!!!!!!!!
ELECTRIC REACTIONS Really can't go wrong with Gorod, I haven't heard a weak track from them yet. You might check oyt Chronicles of the Stone Age, I think it's mint.
This particular brand of tech death kind of started with stuff like Necrophagist to my knowledge. Prior to Necrophagist tech death was stuff more like Demilich, and even Cryptopsy, at which point the genre kind of split off into Necrophagist hyper technical stuff, and Gorguts intense dissonant chaos style. Gorod does predate Archspire also.
That sense of virtuosity and aspiration was definitely brought to the death scene by Necrophagist. Though Gorod is more interesting imo, both melodically and rhythmically. I feel like we owe Atheist a few props too for bringing that jazz influence to the tech death scene.

they're from my town (Bordeaux, in France) and I have a few friends who took guitar lessons with Gorod's guitarist. I almost went for it too but I don't have much money :'( but yeah they can't seem to realize how lucky they are since they don't listen to tech death... hahaha shame on them
