    I have been suffering from severe hair loss for about 7 years now. I cannot put into words how badly it has affected my confidence & life in general. Watching this does give me some hope, however it's a hard thing because not everybody has access to or can afford hair pieces or wigs to cover what may not be 'treatable'

      I went through a period of my hair really thinning out on top an as a woman I completely understand what you are feeling I was Devastated 🥺 I don't know if this will help but I started taking biotin every day and washing my hair with a scalp massager and it all grew back in 🙂 best of luck sweetie 💕

      It's very hard for us women. I remember my hairloss being so drastic that when I washed my hair after 2 weeks in the hospital, so much came out that I saw the shape of my egglike head in the mirror. I was so shocked. It was worse than the actual recovery from surgery 😳

      Fellow androgenic alopecia sufferer here. It sucks. There are medications to help, so talk with your doctor to see if there's one that you can try. Minoxidil (which may be covered by insurance) helps with hair thickness and helps fight hair miniaturization. There's hope. As someone who's been dealing with this crap for almost 20 years, there's hope.

    So happy for her!
    I have male pattern baldness that began when I was 17. I could cry in my bedroom about my hair loss. I started taking Dutasteride and it fixed the problem. I'm so glad I did my research and fought it, and gained my confidence back. Other people just don't understand how much hair loss can affect your self-confidence.

      Good on you for getting on dutasteride, the hair loss apex drug. You did good research.

      @@Merth667 Appreciate it man. I'm 23 now and starting Dut was one of the best decisions I ever made. I have long hair like a metalhead now and I love it, every chick I've ever asked loves it. I couldn't be more pleased with the result. No doubt in my mind I'd be at minimum a NW5/6 by this point had I done nothing.

    I know this is from the UK, however in the USA we have minoxidil (Rogaine) for hair growth. I know it may not be for everyone, but it seems odd there was no mention of it.

    This wasn’t long enough. I wanted to see how much it grew back, I also want to know which supplements and diet recommendations were given also what the at home shampoo treatment was.

      Do your research and see an endocrinologist, PCOS can cause MANY different health issues all over your body. Alopecia, hirsutism, insulin resistance, diabetes, male-typical fat distribution, fertility issues, chronic pain, and much more! Be well ❤️

    • @Merth667
      @Merth667 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you have the genes for hair loss, PCOS will kickstart it because of the increase in testosterone production, which turns into dihydrotestosterone (the hormone that causes hair loss) in your scalp hair. Hope you are doing well

    She is lovely, I too have hair loss. GI diseases diabetes and allergies to just everything that's put into shampoos conditioners I tried a brand of hair volumizer I ended up with welts my hair came out in handfuls. 4 years later my hair has recovered somewhat. The new hair at my temples and hairline are growing in silver instead of my normal medium brown so it looks thinner there. I've tried wigs, hair pieces the powdered stuff that makes hair look fuller. A little 1990s back combing for a little volume helps in a pinch. Not a huge fan of wigs to hot and itchy.

    It is amazing what a difference our perceptions are when a woman suffers hair loss. A number of my friends have, but they have not found a solution for them as yet. “But for the Grace of God, go I”.

    I have three things working against me.. diabetes hypothyroid and pcos… my hair has thinned a bit (I’m only 28) but I’m trying to hold on. The thing that I’m more concerned with actually is my eyebrows! They’re pencil thin and barely exist anymore.

    Poor lady has multiple factors contributing to her hair loss. Thyroid issues cause hair loss. PCOS causes elevated testosterone levels in women, which leads to male pattern baldness. And the treatment for PCOS is similar to what I have to take for my Endometriosis, which suppresses estrogen. I also have seborrheic dermatitis (cradle cap) and I did not know that skin contrition can also contribute to hair loss. It definitely makes your scalp itchy but once you get the right shampoo and stay away from Retinol (Vitamin A) products there's a big difference.
