Hey guys, hope you're all having a great weekend! This video took me a while to make as I really wanted to experiment a bit with new footage and a different style (which I'm quite pleased with). Anyway I hope you enjoyed it, and I'd really appreciate feedback and criticism :) As always subtitles are available.
Also i want to ask you 3 questions. What do you think about Middle Earth:Shadow of War?? How can i get Lotr Online??? And are you playing it,you do have a clan right??? Or an alliance or fellowship etc.
Agreed. Rank upon rank of richly robed, golden helmed warriors marching and then turning with absolute precision. The music is the theme of Lothlorien in all it's glory.
Movies are incredible I just watched all 3 of them the past 2 days and wow some of the greatest cinema of all time. The movies are so perfect I just wish they added a few scenes that are in the books and sure the extended version has some of the scenes I want but I have many more in mind. The books are even better than the perfect movies absolutely incredible writing.
I think as it was the third age and Elves were set to leave for Valinor whilst Men were prophesized to rule, and due to their previous alliance when Sauron had material form, it was done to strengthen the importance of Helms Deep (for cinematic purposes) as a battle in the context of the greater battle for Middle Earth and the whole of the free people's.
Such power these stories hold, Tolkiens characters are still the greatest to read and learn about each one is unique but are remembered by all the deeds they did. Brilliant video friend, as always !
"All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us" *watches Geekzone lore videos* *Happy Gandalf noises* Also, do you have any future plans (if you havent already) to visit Hobbiton in New Zealand? It's on my to do list.
Awesome, i've had a thought. since The mouth of Sauron was not killed in the books. do you think Tolkien intended to use him in the unfinshed works in ''The new Shadow'' or a similar figure to him?
This is great! Personally, I have always loved Rohan the best (after the Shire ofc) and it's really cool to get more history about it, especially about Helm's Deep. Keep it up, buddy! Also, could you make a vid about Aragorn's travels between the events of The Hobbit and Fellowship? I know that he actually captured Gollum once and brought him to the elves in Mirkwood before he escaped but it would be interesting to hear more about what Aragorn did, like was he preoccupied with the growing threat to Gonder's borders or did he spent more time with his fellow Ranger's in Arnor?
I'm sure there are people that would disagree with me there always are about no matter what you talk about. Your videos are very thorough and easy-to-follow. Extremely professional and easy to listen to. videos like this unless you're a die-hard fan sometimes our hard to listen to and I'm not considered a die-hard fan in my mind but I always liked your videos thanks again
I've now lesson'd to all your history of, what ifs, and any other lotr video! Thank you, i love putting you on in the background while playing games. Please continue to make these, i cant wait for more!
Brilliant video geekzone. Thourally enjoyed it. Amazing depth of history these places have. Those glittering caves look and sound absaloutly beautiful.
Your vids on these topics help me answer and understand many aspects I never really understood! And I read the books as a kid and watched the movies many many times! This topic also! Thank you!
Nice video as always! I like the story of Gimli and Legolas postwar, such friendship is what Sam talked about good things in life that worth fighting for.
Brooooo, great video, but is that Skyrim music I hear at the end of the video?? XD When riding around Whiterun and that music is playing it reminds me of rohan lol
I watch your videos every morning ! You do such a good job on these viseos I love them ! Can you please do a video on bard? Hes one of my favorite characters in the hobbit , thank you!
Ilike this big story, from "the silmarillon to LotR, I'm looking every stuff on it , in english and in french, and that from years....I'm just discovering your job, and that's a very good one, for the lores you tell, and illustrations you're showing to explain it....Very pleasant to see, instructing too, felicitations, from an old french rocker....(59)
Its been awhile now i would like you to make a Video abijt the Easterlings also this vid is great. Its also my first time to see a Total War game in your video.
I know the films took a bit of creative licence with the story from the books, especially around the battles, but Helm's Deep is one where I think the changes on the whole are better than the original. The reinforcements arriving by horse, as a grand entrance, it's much more impressive and reinforces that image of them being the horse lords. But more importantly, Eomer is with them, having someone we already know turn up to help rather than someone we've just heard mentioned makes a big difference.
Gamling means "old person" in swedish. Taking tolkiens vast linguistical knowledge in account, that was probably why he named a character "Gamling the old"!
Hey, I have a request/recommendation for a video, I'm sharing it here because I really would like an answer: Why Was The War of the Ring So Brief? Seriously, though it sort of started in 3018 for Gondor, most of the big battles occurred between late February and late March, 3019. I'd be curious to see if there is a reason as to why, perhaps analyzing Sauron's tactics or those of the Free Peoples, and why they resulted in a war that, while massive, was only about a month long. What do people think?
I have little doubt that the glittering caves became a great dwelling of the dwarves in the fourth age and that Lord Gimli and his people made them all the more splendid. Delving openings and entryways, shafts and windows, bridges, stairways and dwellings into the caves. And it became a wonder to behold!
hey matey it's been awhile since I commented. I was wondering if you'd think a tv series on Elrond would be interesting? from his early years up to the last alliance also can you do a video on the topic of why Elrond never killed isildur and destroyed the ring? just curious on your thoughts and opinion :) also sons of Feanor vs the nine? who'd win lol

Did Elrond and Thranduil have a lot of delings with eachother through the ages/did they know eachother well? since they both are really old. Which of them is the oldest? and who is the oldest elf i middle earth? love your vids!
I think I read it wrong, but in the book it says helms dike sticks out like a heal from the northern mountain range, and it has a Great Wall, but I says nothing about another half of a wall meeting it at the middle. Later it states there is a gap in between the walls, and that is what the king, and his men went through to get to helms deep, but it’s kinda not very clear on the description. Did anyone else notice that?

Hey man,i love evrey video that you post.

Have you read The Lord of the Rings???
I read The Silmarillion and the hobbit.
I heard that Lotr books are really long, should i read them????
Also i want to ask you 3 questions.
What do you think about Middle Earth:Shadow of War??
How can i get Lotr Online???
And are you playing it,you do have a clan right???

Though the Elven reinforcements are non-canon, their entrance in the movie is pure awesome.
Yeah for sure, one of the most chilling parts in the movies imo
Agreed. Rank upon rank of richly robed, golden helmed warriors marching and then turning with absolute precision. The music is the theme of Lothlorien in all it's glory.

I teach a college course on the Philosophy of Tolkien and I love the work you do with these videos. First rate.
Thanks Jamie, that sounds like an awesome job to have! I'd love to learn more about that someday.
GeekZone it could be a channel by itself for sure. Keep up the good work, Karl. It is appreciated.
@@GeekZoneMT What is your nationality?
You should try doing a video of all the Nazgûl names and history.
I'll be covering them for sure in the future :)
GeekZone ok! Keep up the good work!
I thought only two of them were ever given actual depth.
@@Mailed-Knight you are correct
Ye, shadow of mordor/war took liberties and named one other Sûladan and possibly more. But other than that, only the witch king and Khamul

I found Faramir to be a more powerful character. Boromir was great, but Faramir was just a beautiful character, almost a Dunedain of Ithilien.

Awesome, i've had a thought. since The mouth of Sauron was not killed in the books. do you think Tolkien intended to use him in the unfinshed works in ''The new Shadow'' or a similar figure to him?
He should have a own spinoff series. I know I would watch that one. He was portrayed very nicely in the movie though. Too bad he was beheaded.

I was thinking, could you cover Athrabeth Finrod ah Andreth?
I find that writing interesting especially when it, I think, actually mentions Jesus!
What do you use for the game like animation of the caves and stuff
I might be wrong but I believe it's Lord of The Rings Online
One thing that still confuses me, when helm hammerhand rode out to raid the dunlandings did he do so alown or with a company of riders to harass them.
He'd go out and hunt them alone :)
