    My grandfather has one of these. Thing is loud as hell. It’s also the same Plumb Crazy Purple paint. It was a manual also. EDIT: HOLY SHIT I DIDN’T REALIZE THERE WERE ONLY 5 OF ITS KIND OUT THERE.

    This car out of the Brother's Collection is my absolute favorite. I wish Dodge would make a2017-18 version 392 Hemi Challenger Convertible.

    That's not a Cougar, but a Cyclone shown. All cool cars though. The Hemi Challenger is in a class of its own in the musclecar family.

      Exactly! When I was 13 I got a ride in a 70 Cyclone. It was gold. A lot of fish tailing.

    Strange I had a 70' Challenger SE convertible with the 225 slant 6. Automatic however I had the console, power steering and front disc brakes, power windows and locks AM/FM 8 track stereo and factory air conditioning, power top, 2:76 rear, 14" rally wheels on Goodyear polyglas GT E-70-14's plum crazy purple with white top and white high back bucket vinyl. And a blistering 145HP I wonder how many of these were made?

      Wow, that would have been a cool car, slant 6 and all.

    I would like to think I would have bought one of these beauties back in the day, but I most likely would have gone with the Chevelle SS 454 being a Chevy guy, though the 1970 Charger R/T is also a long time favorite of mine.

    I have been a subscriber now for some time now and I never have heard a episode where you call the clock and tack combo a 'Tick-Tock-Tack'. Is seems you deliberately go around the more popular name. I'm curious if there's a short story around that? Sincerely your loyal follower, Bill.

    • @michaeladamo1188

      Billy That particular one is not a tick tock tac in the challenger. really dashes that were in B bodys only was referred to as TickTock tac

    still nothing beats a convertible with a hemi+shaker, Funny how buick/gm had to practically give away stage 1s with hipo 455s and yet here 11 convertible challengers were made in 1970 with hemis lmfao. I highly understand why the hemis were far and few from teh price premium but in reality when the buicks were selling for nearly the "hemi package" alone it blows my mind

    why's the exhaust spitting red fumes?

    • @MuscleCarOfTheWeek
      @MuscleCarOfTheWeek  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      benbroccoli89 Original style exhaust systems are mild steel and not stainless like today, so the condensation collects and rusts the inside of the pipes. The red dust is just that.

      The poor cars don't get driven enough. Maybe I should apply for a job with "the brothers" as a car exerciser...

    • @BrewBlaster
      @BrewBlaster 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When I used to work on cars, so many people didn't understand the concept of "blowing out the car". People came in that drove their cars maybe 10 miles a day once a week. Even old cars needed to stretch their legs more than that. More modern fuel injected cars need extended drive times even more.

    • @livewire2759
      @livewire2759 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's right Brewblaster (great name by the way) every car needs to be not only run but driven often to get the fluids stirred up and warmed up, to burn off condensation in the exhaust (which causes the rusty red dust) to keep the oil from gumming up in the piston rings, etc...
      And you're right, Florida, they probably would charge me, I'd probably wear out all the rear tires. ;)

    Hey, if the Brothers need someone to come drive their cars, so brown smoke doesn't come out the exhaust, give me a call!

    They just sold one for 1.3 millions. You shouldve just drove off with it

  • @kurtweggler4880

    How many million dollar cars are in, 'The Brothers Collection'?

  • @devillockj
    @devillockj 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Most likely too expensive for the value at the time, while the car is beautiful the interior was cheap compared to the competition.. I think someone In the market for an upscale muscle car at that time would've overlooked the e body in favour of a b body, or the gm or Ford offerings.

  • @richardturk7162
    @richardturk7162 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Looks like it needs to be driven more and blow some rust out of it.

    • @DoudD

      It's just rust from inside the mufflers. A couple more blasts and it would've been all gone

    • @MuscleCarOfTheWeek
      @MuscleCarOfTheWeek  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +random car vids Original style exhaust systems were made from mild steel, and the condensation from combustion causes them to rust inside the pipes. Today, exhaust is stainless and you don't see the red puffs of oxidation.
