I don't like Meghan Markle, but the character she played here, from writing to execution was pretty damn good. Same with JK Rowling. I'm not the biggest fan of hers politically, but artistically, JK Rowling is the best in the business.
And this, is just one prime example of how you "ask" for what you want in the work environment. It's not enough to just have the balls and ask. Why should your employer provide you with what you're asking? Having confidence is one part of the puzzle. Walking in with every possible defensive avenue covered, Rachel came out on top. Bravo.

Better advice is to 'be' what you want in the workplace. If supervisors see you're able to do better than your current position they'll gladly move you to a position that suits the company better. And don't take that as you needing to start bossing your co-workers around like you're the manager, that will end very poorly. But be proactive and facilitating rather than reactive and it gets noticed.

She knew her worth was more than a paralegal, she just didn't know how or couldn't take the risks to prove that until she faced off her goliath (LSAT), and once she did that she was cleared to make her case to play ball with the big leagues.

That's not being angry, irritated, or hostile, that's learning from your failure and getting right back up again. If you don't see it like that, it's fine. I like this Rachel. Smart, deserving and competent. I wish they showed her professional acumen more. Otherwise, her character was such a petty, hypocritical and dislikable one.
A lot of people have written comments about how she didn't pay it back as she and Mike moved to Seattle. I'd like to point out 2 things here: One, the deal she made with Jessica does not involve the Harvard Rule deal. It is a separate deal. Here the deal is she pays for law school by working here part time, otherwise she would've have left work and studied full time if Louis' deal was to be honoured. Second, she did work at the firm for some time (S7) as she got her license in the middle of S6 when Mike's bar license track started. Though not for long enough,ik but it's not like she got thru college and left the firm
Summer associates do NOT work as lawyers. In big firms, they do a lot of legal research and draft memos of law and maybe some very basic legal documents that are reviewed and edited and put into the name of an admitted lawyer.

When presented she is presented as "Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex". She does hold the title of Princess Meghan, but because her Duchess title supersedes her Princess title, she is presented as the Duchess of Sussex.
