Hope you enjoy your trip Silvia.....Mmmm I have a question ...when you purchase decks oversea...how do you get them back into the country. Do you pack them in your suit case and declare them, or do you have to present them and pay Taxes on them at a counter. I might be going over sea in the next year or so and wondering how it all works. Would love for you to do a video on it as I am sure I am not the only one wanting to know this. Also I thought I heard you say in a recent video that We pay the GST on our decks usually when we order them from oversea ...plus then pay a 10 or 20 % tax on them as they come into Australia. Did I hear that correctly? I tried to go back to rewatch the video but now can't find that part of the conversation and remember what video it was in to re-listen. Also I know about the Mystiko house and Tarotopia shops to purchase decks from in Australia...But are there others that you know about. If so could you please let me know about them. I would love to have more resources then only amazon. Thank you

When I purchase decks from overseas I always tally up the total value and only declare them accordingly, so if the value is less than what’s indicated on the landing card (I believe now it’s 900 AUD) I don’t need to declare them. So far I never bought for more than that. The issue I had with Etsy over was that I was charged 20% GST instead of 10% so I contacted the shop owner who told me the settings were wrong, she thought perhaps AU was mistaken for Austria, where taxes are 20% but we’ll never know for sure. In any case, mistake or not, we’re charged GST on the total amount of the order, including shipping, not just the price of the deck so Etsy for us is ultimately very expensive!

Oh no! I’m sorry to hear that. I seem to remember reading somewhere that Germany has introduced new import rules that make it really hard for deck creators to ship there but I don’t remember exactly what changed. What I usually do is pay for a parcel collect service in Portland Oregon and have everything shipped there in case they don’t ship to Australia but that’s an expensive solution. Maybe you can try contact the creator and explain the situation, sometimes they’re willing to make an exception 🤞🤞🤞
