    You've seen it, you've tried it, you either love it or hate it.. It's high time we review one of the most ubiquitous chocolate milks in the nation-- that's right-- this is the Fairlife episode [triumphant horns]!! Discretion is advised.
    Afoolzerrand is on a mission to find the best chocolate milk the world has to offer. And perhaps the worst. And of course everything in between.

    Maybe you should do a follow up. I’ve never had a bad Fairlife it tastes amazing. Creamy, smooth silky chocolate milk

      I've had tons of Fairlife over the years, and while it's not 'bad' (as in 'rotten') it just doesn't compare favorably to, say, a local non-homogenized chocolate milk from a flavor and texture standpoint. I'd be happy to provide some local recommendations if you'd like-- shoot me an email through the website if you're interested. Taste is subjective, and I definitely believe that you and many others truly enjoy Fairlife, but there's so much better (in my opinion) chocolate milk out there that exposes it for the mass-produced, relatively soulless stuff that it is. All the best!

    I like fairlife because it tastes pretty good while being relatively healthy with its calories and protein content. If you just cared about taste, of course there are much better local brands.

      Totally hear ya-- it fits the bill for that. Definitely not saying it shouldn't exist, because it does deliver a lot of desirable things for consumers (higher protein / lower sugar / lactose free / etc). I probably didn't emphasize that much in the video since I rate it based solely on taste/drinking experience. Thanks for checking it out, and happy drinking!

    I've been drinking Fairlife for 2 years, haven't regreted it ever since. I personally love the chocolate milk kind and, to me, the best chocolate milk I've ever had in my life. I love both regular and chocolate Fairlife milk. I buy 5 each of the flavors. Enjoyed the video. Good stuff.

      No worries, glad you like it-- that's the important thing. Not everyone shares my chocolate milk ideals for sure, and even though this video kind of reads like a diss track, I'm glad to hear that there are folks who dig what they're doing. All the best!

      100% understand-- PA is the world capital of chocolate milk for sure! As a reviewer, I'm kind of obligated to try everything at least once 😉

    damn i enjoy the regular fairlife choc milk, but here you are basically shitting on all of the variations. Gave me a good laugh though with all your reactions.. those high protein bottles variants are absolutely horrible and shouldn't even be given the title of chocolate milk though. Any suggestions for any good tasting chocolate milks i can find in maine or connecticut?

    • @afoolzerrandcom
      @afoolzerrandcom  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Nothing wrong with enjoying Fairlife-- in my experience it just doesn't measure up to so much of the local (especially non-homogenized) chocolate milk out there. CT is a fantastic dairy state-- I did a full run last year and and here's a link to the 4-video playlist: th-cam.com/play/PLDuGmz1-DONS5HxAVMQy0FiXtDTwA-9jy.html, culminating in the top 10. Let me know if you've had any/all of these! I'm from Maine originally and have had some chocolate milks there (link to chocolate milk map: www.afoolzerrand.com/review-filters) but there are several left on my list. I will be going up the ME/NH likely next spring to do a full state review as well. Shoot me an email through the website if you have any comments, quesitons, recommendations, etc.! Cheers, and happy drinking!

    Love fair life but that’s because I don’t drink anything with sugar typically, so to have their 2% variety feels like a real treat, esp if you’re used to only having protein shakes.

    • @afoolzerrandcom
      @afoolzerrandcom  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I hear ya- and I can understand Fairlife seeming like a treat when you're used to low-or-no-sugar shakes. I wish I had the discipline you do to cut the sugar out, but what can I say-- I'm a junkie 😋

    I love your content, thanks so much for doing this! I was curious if you have a best “supermarket” chocolate milk suggestion? Unfortunately a lot of places with top tier chocolate milk are a few hour drive from me and was curious what your go to chocolate milk is in a pinch? Thanks!!

    • @afoolzerrandcom
      @afoolzerrandcom  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks very much! Funny you mentioned that, pretty soon I will be doing a 'top 5 national brands' in the US. In terms of a supermarket brand, there are a few-- Harris Teeter (not a national chain) has their HT Traders chocolate milk which is really quite good, and the Fresh Market (large regional chain, but not national) has very good Jersey whole choc milk. In terms of national-- Trader Joes (whole) chocolate milk is quite good, and outside of that-- Promised Land is generally a step above most other national brands. Cocoa Metro is nationwide, and can be found in places like Whole Foods (not every store carries it, but it's worth checking out). These would be my go-to's in a pinch. I've been in worse pinches though where I have to settle for a TruMoo or something else truly unremarkable. But that's life-- thanks for the question!

    • @MagicButWhole
      @MagicButWhole ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much! I ended up getting the Trader Joe’s whole milk option and it was quite good! I’ll have to keep an eye out for that video!

    As usual, you nailed it brother. Just drove through Greencastle PA, grabbed some Harrisburg Dairy Chocolate Milk. Gonna give it a try later in my frosted mug. Chocolate Milk Cheers my friend.

    • @afoolzerrandcom
      @afoolzerrandcom  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for checking it out man! Greencastle is pretty close to a couple great local MD-based chocolate milks (Misty Meadow in Smithsburg, and Deliteful Dairy in Williamsport); I'm glad you were able to snag some on your way through! Frosted mug drinking sounds like a good idea to me- might toss one in the freezer next time I want to get introspective and enjoy the simpler things in life. Hope you're doing great! 👍

    I guess people who aren't on a diet or have considerable amount of sugar in their diet. Wouldn't enjoy products that have a limited amount of sugar. Thanks for a new perspective.

    • @afoolzerrandcom
      @afoolzerrandcom  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I should've been more clear in the video that my review scores focus on taste/texture/drinking experience only-- I did try to be 'fair' about some of the benefits, but I probably spent more time on what I didn't like about it. Thanks for checking it out!

  • @farrahjordan1396
    @farrahjordan1396 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I’ve always wondered, is it better to drink something with a lot of regular sugar in it than to drink something with a small amount of fake sugar?

    • @afoolzerrandcom
      @afoolzerrandcom  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question-- and I really don't know. I'm sure it depends on a lot of things-- quantities, personal affectations, and what kinds of fake sugar. What do you think? For me, I'd rather have something enjoyable than something that is a poor knock-off of chocolate milk. I don't necessarily recommend drinking as much chocolate milk as I do though 😅

      @@afoolzerrandcomwhat chocolate milk brands do you suggest? Maybe give me your top three favorites?

    • @afoolzerrandcom
      @afoolzerrandcom  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well it kind of depends on where you're located. Some of the best chocolate milks I've ever had are in PA, OH, FL, VT. Happy to go into further detail, but it might not be very relevant to you depending on where you live. Here's a link to the ones I've scored a 10.0: www.afoolzerrand.com/home/tag/10.0 but there is even a hierarchy within those. If you're interested in the best national brands (i.e. ones that are available in all or most US states) I'll be doing a video on that hopefully in the next couple months! Shoot me an email through the website if you want some personal local recommendations. Thanks!

    Some of those brands remind me of an overglorified version of Yohoo!!! Plus, it contains HFCS. Some of those other chocolate milk brands contain a ton of HFCS.

    • @afoolzerrandcom
      @afoolzerrandcom  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah HFCS is nasty, but I don't think I've seen Fairlife that contains it. There's a time and place for Yoo-hoo-- for me, the time was when I was 7-10 years old. Solid memories of that stuff as a kid, but as an adult, it's hard to justify soiling my esophagus with that shit!

  • @chrisb2535
    @chrisb2535 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That's interesting. Because I think plain Fairlife milk (I've had skim) is pretty good. I guess the issue with the Chocolate is the sweeteners.

    • @afoolzerrandcom
      @afoolzerrandcom  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, very well could be the case. Surprisingly, I'm not a fan of non-flavored milk, but I'm sure theirs is ok. The ultra-pasteurization would still bother me I think, as I'm pretty used to creamline (non-homogeinzed) milk-- but most people probably don't have a strong opinion or haven't tried them side-by-side. Thanks for checking out the video!

    Nature's Touch from Kwik Trip. Their whole chocolate milk is great. AE also makes some good 2% choco milk and some good whole choco too.

    • @afoolzerrandcom
      @afoolzerrandcom  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nature's Touch wasn't my favorite for sure (I'll pop the video review link below) but it remains popular in the midwest for sure. I have enjoyed Anderson Erickson chocolate milk, including some of their flavors (mint choc, dark choc..). I've got lots of old footage of that that I haven't yet produced, but I'll hopefully get to it one of these days. Thanks for checking out the video-- stay thirsty! th-cam.com/video/r38lMCCYUEs/w-d-xo.html

    Yo my man, idk if you live near the New England area but you gotta try and get your hands on some Contoocook Creamery stuff. Their chocolate milk is by far the best I've tried out of the hundred of brands and local kinds and i feel like with how your channel is based you'd really appreciate a good tasting chocolate milk lol. Again it is kind of only in the New England area not sure if they ship or anything like that but its also in like 20-30 locations in the said area so some of them may offer shipping but yeah just a thought, if you're interested I can send you a link to their page! :)
    Edit: Completely missed the location card you used but yeah, still worth checking out what i was saying if you're interested.

      Hi and thanks for the comment! I grew up in Maine and have definitely done lots of chocolate milk tasting in the area. A number of years ago, I had Contoocook Creamery chocolate milk in NH and I'm now convinced I got a bad batch of it. It wasn't rotten, but it was paralyzingly sweet-- and I confirmed this with about 7 other people I was with at the time. That was the only time I had it, but I will be going back up to do NH and ME properly from a choc milk standpoint likely next spring. I'll link to my review below. There's also a chocolate milk map on my website which might highlight some other local ones near you that you might be interested to check out. Headed to Oregon this week to do the full state review! Thanks again for the comment-- shoot me an email via the website if you want to chat further. Cheers! www.afoolzerrand.com/home/contookook-creamery-chocolate-milk

      You'd think-- but the video was shot in March of 2022 (not 2023-- it took me a while to get around to publishing the footage 😅) and I believe the expiration date of the stuff in the white bottle was August 2022, so believe it or not it was still 'good' by that measure.. Good question though, as it probably wasn't clear that the footage is about a year old!

    You are a saint for putting your stomach through this lineup, but kudos for giving them all a fair shake (no pun intended). I simply cannot get past the aftertaste. If it's all that's available in the store, I'll go without chocolate milk instead.

      Haha- yeah we suffer for our art sometimes! The amount of time I spend seeking out and drinking bad chocolate milks (even when I know they're going to be bad) is staggering-- but it's that RPG/completionist grind that keeps me going until I've had them all 😅. Like you said, I'll also go without if it comes down to choosing among Fairlife/Nesquik/TruMoo or nothing. Thanks for checking out the video 👍
