That's what I loved about the old Soviet Union era aircraft. They looked so strange. It was like Boeing, Lockheed and BOAC knew that the KGB had infiltrated their companies. Sounds like these could be existing un-used Il-96-400T cargo versions converted to carry passagers. No indication these are new constructions. Most likely because of the embargo and Russian not being able to access Boeing or Airbus aircraft and parts. Both versions use Russian made electronics, etc.

Eh, I've heard good things about the Cubana planes which are only gonna turn 20 recently. It seems like they do take care of them (they kinda have to, considering they can't get replacements easily).
