Hello! This video really, really inspired me to push even more into taking Psychology. I'm still conflicted because of the reason that my parents don't exactly approve of me taking the course because of practicality (for them). I understand that they want me to be headed into a path of being secure in life, but really, I've had a love for psychology because of what it is all about and what one can do in the professional field. I've always cared about mental health ever since. I've had family members have certain behaviors and personalities, I've had relatives and friends struggle in life and go through deep and dark states, I've also gone through periods of depression myself. I've been interested in exploring psychology because of an understanding of how impactful experiences and the state of the mind can be to one's behavior and way of life. My admiration for psychology isn't because of the money. It's because of having a heart for it: caring for people, listening to them, understanding their behavior, and so much more. I just really, really care, and I've never been more certain that I want to take psychology as my course for college. I'm still hoping for things to come around, so that I can do what I really want to do in life, and in return, provide for my parents and make them happy. But thank you for the video, I'm so glad I came across this. You made me have a better understanding of psychology, and my love for it has ignited even more.

Althroughout the years I've been asking myself what I want to be in the future. I'm already in Grade 10 so I also want to know what I want. And then just yesterday I realized I want to become a Psychologist. I want to help people. As a teenager I also experienced depression. I always cried at night without knowing the reason behind my tears. And my friends always compliments me for being a good adviser and problem solver. Little did they know I cried secretly. And I always feel the pressure of being an honor student. I'm an honor student because I work hard but sometimes when my rank goes down they always asked me why and everytime they asked me I always felt down. I worked so hard but it just that sometimes there are times that we experienced failure since it's part of our life. So yesterday I decided to research about being a psychologist and thanks to this video. I want to make other people feel better and I want students to take their time co'z there's always the right time. People will always judge you no matter you do good or bad things they always have a say to you.
Psychology will allow you to understand the human behavior and mental processes. But that, I mean, you will better understand why a person act, think, feel the way they do. And it’s usually backed with research and practice.

I believe it depends on the medical school youre applying. UP manila and other medical school accepts AB or BS degree for admission but other school recommend a certain required units in natural science subjects like PLM or St Luke's. Im taking AB Psychology and I will pursue Medicine next year :)

Hello po! Thank you for this informative video. This helped me address my confusion on whether what to do next after my Bachelor's degree in Psychology (btw, I'm a 3rd yr Bs Psychology student). I'm planning to take Clinical Psychology and this inspires me to pursue what i really wanted. I agree with u when u said that salary doesnt really matter as long as ur passionate with what ur doing and as long as you are anchored with your goal- to be of service. Sir, I just want to thank you for the knowledge, you've shared especially about the profession. I've been very passionate about psychology ever since learning it from the youtube videos, I watched. It piqued my passion to thrive, that's why I choose HUMSS during my SHS years about to graduate this year. I'm having doubts, because like you said sir that psychology is not a profession that would you expect na mag bring sayu ng fame or fortune. However, regardless of that, I think that my passion is enough of a reason to justify my career and future. I also like helping people and giving them advice about life. Thank you for a very informative video, however on the part of subjects that were given to us(HUMSS strand) are just an overview and generalized, which these subjects contains an ethical, Acts-as aforementioned, R.A. 10029, and etc. for aspiring psychologists, since there is a “bridging program” in some universities. They are required to finish two additional subjects over two years just to be considered qualified to take psychology course.

I shifted from BS to AB kasi di ko talaga feel ang job na may natural science. If you want to do a different job like neurologist or more focused on the sciences, you can proceed to BS. But if you prefer na mag-focus more on human behavior, go for AB. Sorry if may mali dito sa explanation ko.

I already graduated with a degree in BA Psych and passed the Psychomet Licensure but went straight to work in the HR field (bc it was the most practical) but lately I've been thinking of shifting to the clinical setting like you. It has always been at the back of my mind to be a Psychologist even as an undergrad, and to be more specific, to dabble in Forensic Psych as well (I was so surprised that you mentioned that too bc the coincidence???? omg). I just want to ask lang kasi you mentioned in the video that PRC won't just give you an examination admission slip and that they need to do further assessment... aside from your mental health, what else do they need to evaluate? Also, do you have any tips when it comes to choosing which Masters program in Psych to enroll in? Parang may mga subfields na yung iba eh.. For those na nagiisip why may counseling sa HUMSS strand, actually I don’t really know saang school may subjects na ganun kasi personally, galing ako sa HUMSS strand from UST-SHS (second batch kami ng shs at that time) and wala sa curriculum namin ang counseling, hindi ko lang alam if nabago ba or what. But yes i agree, if you want to take up psychology in college, HUMSS strand is the best option.

Actually mag-Grade 10 palang ako this year but I decided to plan while we're in a quarantine. And yeah, I do like to take AB Pyschology kapag college na ko. As for your next question, after grad madaming opportunities sa Psych kasi flexible degree siya. You can work in Clinical setting, Human Resource, and Schools. I think sa job hindi ka mahihirapan. However, I am now in a decision that I'll be pursuing bs psych and take master's degree after,since serving our country as well as our countrymen is really what my heart desires. Months ago, I've came across with this vid and it really pushes me to pursue AB/BS Psychology in college. Naaalala ko pa 'yung pakiramdam na siguradong sigurado ako sa course na 'to, parang "eto na 'yon!" I'm interested with ppl's mind, trait and such. Hanggang sa nag grow 'yung passion ko to help other people. I knew a lot of people around me who suffered from mental illness, I understand them..ayon lang.. naiintindihan ko lang sila..kaya ko lang ilagay 'yung sarili ko sa position nila..kaya ko lang maging careful sa mga actions and words na sasabihin ko sa kanila..but I can't give advices. It's hard for me to choose what words I should say to help them help themselves. And then habang nag aapply ako for college admissions, meron na isang course na 'nung nalaman ko na ganon 'yungmga ginagawa which is gusto ko talaga rin at makakahanap ng trabaho na medyo aligned din sa HR (Feeling ko kasi HR personnel kaagad 'yung ma-apply-an kong trabaho muna kapag gumraduate ako ng BS Psychology) And sa course na college na 'to, medyo practical din siya kasi maraming pwedeng jobs na pag-apply-an. Kaya ayon..bumalik ulit ako sa vid na 'to para mabalik 'yung eagerness ko months ago at hindi ako panghinaan ng loob 🙈

Nawala kasi yung form 137 ko kaya di ko alam kung qualified ang science at math ko, natatakot ako na baka di ko makuha/maenroll ang BS Psych.. Hello! This video really, really inspired me to push even more into taking Psychology. I'm still conflicted because of the reason that my parents don't exactly approve of me taking the course because of practicality (for them). I understand that they want me to be headed into a path of being secure in life, but really, I've had a love for psychology because of what it is all about and what one can do in the professional field. I've always cared about mental health ever since. I've had family members have certain behaviors and personalities, I've had relatives and friends struggle in life and go through deep and dark states, I've also gone through periods of depression myself. I've been interested in exploring psychology because of an understanding of how impactful experiences and the state of the mind can be to one's behavior and way of life. My admiration for psychology isn't because of the money. It's because of having a heart for it: caring for people, listening to them, understanding their behavior, and so much more. I just really, really care, and I've never been more certain that I want to take psychology as my course for college. I'm still hoping for things to come around, so that I can do what I really want to do in life, and in return, provide for my parents and make them happy.

Althroughout the years I've been asking myself what I want to be in the future. I'm already in Grade 10 so I also want to know what I want. And then just yesterday I realized I want to become a Psychologist. I want to help people. As a teenager I also experienced depression. I always cried at night without knowing the reason behind my tears. And my friends always compliments me for being a good adviser and problem solver. Little did they know I cried secretly. And I always feel the pressure of being an honor student. I'm an honor student because I work hard but sometimes when my rank goes down they always asked me why and everytime they asked me I always felt down. I worked so hard but it just that sometimes there are times that we experienced failure since it's part of our life. So yesterday I decided to research about being a psychologist and thanks to this video. I want to make other people feel better and I want students to take their time co'z there's always the right time.
People will always judge you no matter you do good or bad things they always have a say to you.
Psychology will allow you to understand the human behavior and mental processes. But that, I mean, you will better understand why a person act, think, feel the way they do. And it’s usually backed with research and practice.

I believe it depends on the medical school youre applying. UP manila and other medical school accepts AB or BS degree for admission but other school recommend a certain required units in natural science subjects like PLM or St Luke's. Im taking AB Psychology and I will pursue Medicine next year :)

Wow this is so informative po! Thank you po kasi I’ve been trying my best to find a video like this in TH-cam na nakabase sa Pilipinas. I graduated SHS strand of Humanities and Social Sciences. I stopped for 2 years to save money for my Psychology Journey. I didn’t know that I could proceed to Psychology when taking BA Psychology because I am mainly focusing on being a Psychologist. I thought I needed to take up BS Psychology. Thank you for the information! It really does help me a lot but I decided to continue taking up BS Psychology when I go back to school hopefully next year. Praying for this pandemic to end. Stay safe! 😍❤️

Currently taking BMLS (first week and I already dislike it cuz I never wanted to take BMLS) and I want to shift to AB Psychology for the second semester. Sir, I just want to thank you for the knowledge, you've shared especially about the profession. I've been very passionate about psychology ever since learning it from the youtube videos, I watched. It piqued my passion to thrive, that's why I choose HUMSS during my SHS years about to graduate this year. I'm having doubts, because like you said sir that psychology is not a profession that would you expect na mag bring sayu ng fame or fortune. However, regardless of that, I think that my passion is enough of a reason to justify my career and future.
I also like helping people and giving them advice about life. It gives me purpose to also learn about human behavior that adds to my personal values and morals. Thank you for a very informative video, however on the part of subjects that were given to us(HUMSS strand) are just an overview and generalized, which these subjects contains an ethical, Acts-as aforementioned, R.A. 10029, and etc. for aspiring psychologists, since there is a “bridging program” in some universities. They are required to finish two additional subjects over two years just to be considered qualified to take psychology course.

I graduated ABM strand last year. I take BSBA but after few day nag drop na ako kasi diko feel doon parang hindi ako para don😭until now naghahanap parin ako kung anong course ipupursue ko then nakita ko 'to before this is one of my dreams. If gusto mong maging Psychologist take AB Psychology mas economically practical. But if you wish to pursue medicine then take BS Psychology because of the added natural sciencesubjects. Here is a rough track for your reference:
*AB/BS Psychology (4 years)
•Licensure for Psychometrician (RPm) -1 year review
•MA/MSc Psychology (3 years more or less)
•Clinical Practicum (200 hours)
•Licensure for Psychologist (RPsy) - 1 year review
•PhD in Psychology or Psy.D. - 6 years more or less
•Certificate of Specialization (3 years) - Clinical Psychologist, Developmental Psychologist, Counseling Psychologist

I shifted from BS to AB kasi di ko talaga feel ang job na may natural science. If you want to do a different job like neurologist or more focused on the sciences, you can proceed to BS. But if you prefer na mag-focus more on human behavior, go for AB. Sorry if may mali dito sa explanation ko.
Yes, you have a point. And it’s direct to the point. Neurology is a sub specialty of Medicine. Our Focus in Psychology is HUMAN BEHAVIOR and MENTAL PROCESSES. 🌻🥰

I already graduated with a degree in BA Psych and passed the Psychomet Licensure but went straight to work in the HR field (bc it was the most practical) but lately I've been thinking of shifting to the clinical setting like you. It has always been at the back of my mind to be a Psychologist even as an undergrad, and to be more specific, to dabble in Forensic Psych as well (I was so surprised that you mentioned that too bc the coincidence???? omg). I just want to ask lang kasi you mentioned in the video that PRC won't just give you an examination admission slip and that they need to do further assessment... aside from your mental health, what else do they need to evaluate? Also, do you have any tips when it comes to choosing which Masters program in Psych to enroll in? Parang may mga subfields na yung iba eh.. Also, tips in surviving an MA program in general would be greatly appreciated too! Thank you so much again, stay safe and God Bless!

Yo! Saw this at the comment section when I was watching a vlog about taking BS PSYCHOLOGY. Mahal/Magastos po ba mag-aral when taking the BS Psychology course? My tita has a mental health problem (she's bipolar) and ya. I really want to take this course but I'm thinking about the expenses. Grade 10 student here.
Siguro depende sa school lalo na kung mahal din ang fees for labs. Sa books ka mag-invest and sa patience. Reading reading reading walang katapusang reading ito. 🌻

For those na nagiisip why may counseling sa HUMSS strand, actually I don’t really know saang school may subjects na ganun kasi personally, galing ako sa HUMSS strand from UST-SHS (second batch kami ng shs at that time) and wala sa curriculum namin ang counseling, hindi ko lang alam if nabago ba or what. But yes i agree, if you want to take up psychology in college, HUMSS strand is the best option.
Can you be called a 'Doctor' if you have graduated on Master's Degree and then passed the Licensure Exam?
Doctor of Psychology or PhD in Psychology is another degree to pursue before you can use “Dr.”

Actually mag-Grade 10 palang ako this year but I decided to plan while we're in a quarantine. And yeah, I do like to take AB Pyschology kapag college na ko. Kasi napapansin ko mga kabataan nalilito at di alam kung ano ang tatahakin. Kaya ako pinagiisipan ko na para mas maging sigurado ako in the near future.

Hello! Thank you for this video, you actually inspire me to pursue a career in clinical setting. I'm currently working in HR field and I'm also on my last sem of my Masteral (Psychology). I will still have to finish my practicum as part of a requirement for board exam. Jaimee Caldona dear, you may opt to enroll for Ph.D. Set your own timeline. The field won’t rush you. Best if you will enroll and work in the clinical field. You will learn a lot of things kasi practice-based ang mga items ng exams natin. 🌻🌻🌻

Also, people who are clinically diagnosed with mental/psychological disorders can still enroll in the program but there is a requirement before you could take the Board Licensure for Psychologists that you should be mentally fit to practice the profession. Hello, dear! Naturals Sciences (Biology, Chem) ang marami sa BS Psych. Both AB and BS Psych ay madaming Maths (especially Statistics - the advanced ones), because full of Research courses ang field na Psychology. As for your next question, after grad madaming opportunities sa Psych kasi flexible degree siya. You can work in Clinical setting, Human Resource, and Schools. I think sa job hindi ka mahihirapan. Pwede rin sa abroad. But if you wanna pursue ang pagiging Psychometrician and Psychologist, then take all the Licensure Examinations. Nabanggit ko dito sa vlog ko and sa bagong upload na vlog ko. @@SunflowerPsychologist hello po, im planning to take psychocology po but im gonna take ab psych den po because of math, nahihiya man po akong sabihin pero napakabobo ko po sa math, sobra po. But you said po na same lang ang math sa BS and AB psych, pero may napanuod po akong vlog na mas marame ang math nang BS compared to AB daw po nahihirapan po ako :(( and btw po im gonna take humss in shs.
Maraming NATURAL sciences sa BS than AB. Almost same lang sa Mathematics. Expect mo ang Statistics and Research. Ako rin di ako ganun kagaling sa Maths, pero kinaya ko parin. Kaya mo din yan. 🌻🌻🌻

same plan as mine. I was also confused whether to enroll med school or just take master's degree for me to join pnp lateral entry. However, I am now in a decision that I'll be pursuing bs psych and take master's degree after,since serving our country as well as our countrymen is really what my heart desires. And being inline with pre med or med courses are really needed in pnp org.
Months ago, I've came across with this vid and it really pushes me to pursue AB/BS Psychology in college. Naaalala ko pa 'yung pakiramdam na siguradong sigurado ako sa course na 'to, parang "eto na 'yon!"
I'm interested with ppl's mind, trait and such. Hanggang sa nag grow 'yung passion ko to help other people. I knew a lot of people around me who suffered from mental illness, I understand them..ayon lang.. naiintindihan ko lang sila..kaya ko lang ilagay 'yung sarili ko sa position nila..kaya ko lang maging careful sa mga actions and words na sasabihin ko sa kanila..but I can't give advices. It's hard for me to choose what words I should say to help them help themselves.
And then habang nag aapply ako for college admissions, meron na isang course na 'nung nalaman ko na ganon 'yungmga ginagawa which is gusto ko talaga rin at makakahanap ng trabaho na medyo aligned din sa HR (Feeling ko kasi HR personnel kaagad 'yung ma-apply-an kong trabaho muna kapag gumraduate ako ng BS Psychology)
And sa course na college na 'to, medyo practical din siya kasi maraming pwedeng jobs na pag-apply-an.
Kaya ayon..bumalik ulit ako sa vid na 'to para mabalik 'yung eagerness ko months ago at hindi ako panghinaan ng loob 🙈

Bago ako mapunta sa video na to I'm really confused kung anong kukunin kaya nagsearch ako kung ano ang pinagkaiba ng AB Psych at BS Psych .. Nawala kasi yung form 137 ko kaya di ko alam kung qualified ang science at math ko, natatakot ako na baka di ko makuha/maenroll ang BS Psych.. Kaya tinitignan ko kung anong pinagkaiba ng AB Psych sa BS Psych kasi kung di ako maka qualified sa BS Psych I would go to AB Psych.. Lately ko lang narealized na Psychology talaga ang gusto ko.. So I really want to pursue this course..
