    Girl, inside twizzles are way easier than those witchcraft repetitive 3-turns in a circle you were doing.

    TH-cam recently recommended me a vid of those pair skaters Ekaterina and Sergei and I read more into it, I opened their wikipedia and found out they won a competition in Prague in 1988 so I clicked on it cuz I was curious (I’m Czech) and the seventh place was someone Czechslovakian so I clicked on him just to find out it was your dad! Sorry, I just found it exciting, I’m so glad you’re making these videos, I’d love to go to your lessons irl but it’s sorta out of hand :D

    That's a very good video, thank you for making. I wish in this and other videos where it's important, you would mention what part of the skate you are doing the move. I think for anything "spin" like being on the right part of the blade is super important

    Could you include more information in your videos about foot pressure and blade placement? That would be very helpful. I saw a video by Oleg on twizzles and he shows foot pressure, edge and blade placement details which makes all the difference in trying to learn new skills or perfect them.

      From what I have been told, the motion is a “rocking” type of motion between the toe and heel of your skating foot. It will be more towards the toe for the regular forward three turn, and towards the heel for the back three turn. Having your double threes, or at least your backward three turns will be very helpful.
      One other note I have is to be very careful to not make a loop instead of a twizzle. This is often due to not waiting long enough to allow for the back three turn to be properly executed (the rocking motion of the foot). If you look at your tracings on the ice, you should be able to see twizzle vs loop shape.

    Hey Sophie! I'm trying to learn front crossovers now (I know, I'm a total beginner...)and I'm really struggling with my outside edges. My crossovers aren't smooth at all... I tend to rush them because I feel uncomfortable on outside edges. I have watched your video on crossovers but it did not give the exact instructions that I needed to feel confident on outside edges. Could you please give me some advice? Thank you so much! ❤️

      saaaame, outside edges are nightmares for me! my feet love going inward so inside edges took me like...no time to learn, but outside edges.... T^T

    • @jurottluff2364
      @jurottluff2364 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Have you tried to exercise just your outside edges? To get comfortable on all of my edges I always try to just hold them for as long as I can during my warm up. So just on a circle push and hold all of your edges. Also paying attention to bending my knee really helped to give me more stability and made my crossovers smoother

      Gloria This may sound silly, but could be helpful perhaps. When was the last time you’ve sharpened your blades? I had pretty old skates and haven’t sharpened them for months. And then started to feel very uncomfortable until I realized this. Then sharpened them, and tried a different style blade, and this easily fixed my problem. Best of luck!

    So what’s the difference between twizzle and a spin..? Is twizzle a shorter spin?

    • @fayethinfate
      @fayethinfate 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Twizzles for me are like very fast and small 3-turns. See the pattern drawn on the ice. When you spin, you make circles; when you do twizzles, you make continuous 3-turns. Practice your forward and backward three turns a lot, try to get speed from them. When the edges are well-executed on the ice, you gain momentum and can perform better. Hope this helps! :)

    • @AbigailHall6784

      twizzles travel across the ice, but spins are centered.
