Solar Boat Project - prep work on the underside

In this video I sand down the squeeze-out foam as I get ready to glass in the final panel. I am using a cordless grinder with a Diablo flap disk.

Such a nice project to work on with your son. I wish my dad built a boat with me when I was a kid. Thanks for documenting all the steps in the videos. You have given me the confidence to try building a boat on my dock. I watched Jamie Mantzel's entire playlist about making the "Shark Slicer" too.

Cool on building a boat on your dock... I envy your setup. Love the shark slicer.. .my favorite of his boats. On his recent live broadcast he said that he feels more comfortable on his boats that have a paddle wheel. In case the electric motor goes down he still has a way home. You have enough solar panels that you might consider powering a trolling motor off of your battery bank - just for cruising.
