Vincent Law The problem with Kojima stuff is the overhype and the pretentiousness of it all, same with the likes of Peter Molyneux, or Cliff Blezzinsky(sp?) and others in the industry who are full of themselves. Just like Romero decades ago with Daikatana! Insane and delusional marketing and hype ends up killing the final product, especially if it doesn't deliver as promised, plus the pretentious personality both of the product itself and the people or designer behind it contributes to its debacle and failure.
@@V0YAG3R The game wasn't a letdown at all though. Its one thing to dislike it because it's not a genre or setting you're interested in or you simply don't like it, but there's nothing definitively wrong with the game.
They were expecting something similar to metal gear solid/silent hill. Something like a horror action game. I dont blame them watching some of the first trailers it looked lile that. I enjoyed the game, the story was very insteresting but I felt like the deliveries got a little tedious at some point. By 10 hours of playtime I knew the game consisted of deliveries, terrain traversal and some story. I simply wished there was more to do other than deliveries. Its a very good concept and I hope they expand on it, hopefully a dlc or another game for clifford or for sam before the explosion.
I knew this game was special when I came across a sign that said there's a good view on top of the nearby hill and when I climbed to the top I saw a pile of rocks where other players have rested. In that moment I felt so connected.
@@Rorschach003 Difficult at first, you get used to it after the second or third ghost. My BB was annoying. Had to leave the little guy behind. He wouldn't stop crying so I threw him off a cliff. Gotta make sacrifices.
I won’t deny that my first playthrough was a drag the first 20 hours. After Chapter 3 it was a wild ride. Now I am playing on my second playthrough on the highest difficulty. The story is way better the second time now that I understand the context of everything. That is the major flaw of Kojima games. They always take two playthroughs to understand the context and appreciate the story fully. He tends to info dump early on in his games without explaining to the player the meaning at first. This turns a lot of people away from what is honestly one of the most masterfully consistent video game designers and story tellers in history.
Gotta agree. And it was evident even with the first Metal Gear on the original Playstation. It was only on the second run through that everything really started meshing into place.
I actually switch between Death Stranding and Cyberpunk 2077. Cyberpunk is a living, breathing metropolis that lets me make a home in the urban jungle. Death Stranding is my "explore the shattered world" where things are eerily similar but completely new at the same time.
i love this so much!!!!!!!!!!!I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also Sam Porter Bridges MUST BE PROTECTED AT ALL COSTS HE WORKS SO HARD FOR AMERICA AND DESERVES HIS REST!
This game suddenly made me understand that all is, basically, vanity. All the news, adverts, trends, tik tok videos... All this can disappear once there's a big cataclysm like in Death Stranding. There is only man and his loneliness tete-a-tete with nature. Always been this way. Hence, all our wishes and temptations are from human world which can be easily destroyed. True value of life lies in surviving another day and being in peace with the world and yourself. Damn, this is really a Zen game.
It is truly one of the most beautiful games ever done. I am going to replay it for the fourth time this winter, I always love playing it during cold and rainy season because I connect better with the game that way. I am very excited for Death Stranding 2 and I hope there is a much bigger pressure to take the game slower and truly taste each moment. I think this game gives people a breath of fresh air in the sea of constant stimulation we live in nowadays.
all of my friends wrote this game off as a walking simulator I'm so glad I found this community, death stranding is the first game I've been able to just fully relax and unwind in and take in the vistas
I've wandered around this vast world for almost 300 hours and every step in it feels like a step inside me. So immersive that even when I'm not playing, I feel that the rain continues to fall randomly, aging everything that was built there... showing us that even if it takes a long time to be done, time is relentless and day after day, rain after the rain... it slowly "takes away" everything, even our fragile body! This game is a work of art!
This was the first piece of all media(video games, movies, tv shows) to actually make me cry. I genuinely started sobbing during the ending scene. Nothing has made me do that. It's such a beautiful game, with awesome characters and stunning visuals. Sadly the profile that i played it on didn't have a playstation network account linked to it though.
I love this game so much, I have three copies for my death stranding PS4 pro. Including my copy that I bought digital, then my collectors edition, and then I bought this for my pc also.
I wish they had a BT Free mode of this game so that once you are done with the storyline you can explore every inch without having to worry about them.
It would be nice to explore the land without a threat but the BTs make the game of death stranding like how there is always a sense of impending danger
"One day you will be able to go anywhere in the world ... even to the Moon." (And doesn't the Moon look like it has gone through its own Death Stranding with terminal results, a floating cinder ball)
I heard it was a deliberate choice to increase the sense of isolation and to make the few moments where music is actually being used in key moments of the walking parts more impactful
Thanks, great video! Sounds good n light, best soothing music tune. So incredibly n intensely wonderful great piece! Perfect for stress relief, relaxation n soulpeace! Infinite love!🙏🎶
