    If we assume the water lift from well is due to vacuum created in the drum then on opening the outlet valves will create an air lock in the drum or leak back because atmospheric pressure is active on source and discharge equally..Good try to defy the laws of physics. Kirloskar will have to close down.

    • @aabeastsider
      @aabeastsider ปีที่แล้ว

      But doesn't gravity play a role here? That tank has a lot of water that wants to exit through the discharge.

      The inlet pipe from the well seems to be 34mm(1 and 1/4ins) and the outlet pipe 60mm(2 and 1/4ins) . At last ball valve the outlet pipe is changed to 34mm so that water flowing in is same as that flowing out. The water flowing out causes a vacuum in the drum and water is sucked to fill the vacuum. All joints and drum must be air tight otherwise air will be sucked in to fill the vacuum. Under outside conditions a vacuum will suck up water to about 8meter. (Scientifically 10m under ideal conditions.)

    • @solbarlow9800
      @solbarlow9800 ปีที่แล้ว

      The pipe with one end closed and fixed perpendicular to the outlet pipe is what we call a pressure pipe which ensures that outlet water is not sucked back back into drum?

      @@solbarlow9800 You can use any size of pipe. For this to work the waterlevel in the well must be elevated higher then the discharge in the rice field. This is a siphon with a starting barrel.

  • @imeldakennington1047
    @imeldakennington1047 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    you need a non return valve at bottom of suction pipe so that when you fill pipe at start there will be water in pipe as it will not suck air. preferably outlet lower than inlet.

    • @Dingsrud
      @Dingsrud ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With a drum you do not need any foot valve. The output MUST be lower than the water level in the well, else it will not work.

    • @Dingsrud
      @Dingsrud ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You will not be able to rise water even 10 cm with this setup. The output must be lower than the water level in the well

    • @aabeastsider
      @aabeastsider ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Dingsrud are you sure? Are you aware that the barrel is sealed? Exiting water creates a vaccum in the barrel making it suck water out the well. That's how I imagine it works.

    • @kjellg6532
      @kjellg6532 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@aabeastsider One can think that this is the case, but no.
      To lift anything up, you must add energy to it. If you use the energy stored in the barrel, that energy is depleted in a few minutes. It is gone, lost. No water can by itself flow upwards, it must always go down, using up its potential energy.
      Funny trick: take a water drinking glass. Suck it in water. Take the plain, light lid from a yogurt jar and press it against the rim of the glass. Top turtle the combo and lift it out of the water. Now remove the press - and the water stays in the glass, it does not pour out. Same with the barrel. Dip the output into a cup of tea, no water comes out of the barrel. Why does nor gravity make it flow out?
      If it was possible to pump water up with a siphon, one could ad a generator on the way down. We would have an endless source of energy. No coal, gas, wind, solar or nuclear powerplants. That would have been nice, but impossible.

    • @infinitebeing1119
      @infinitebeing1119 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@kjellg6532the energy comes in the form of atmospheric pressure at water level and gravitational potential of water inside the drum. This is not energy free. this is natural energy.
      Energy will not deplete since the source of energy is water itself.

    • @kjellg6532
      @kjellg6532 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@infinitebeing1119 “Natural energy”? The inly energy here is the guy lifting water up into the drum. When all that water is down to the field at the output, there is no more energy in the system and it all stops. This is a siphon (with a barrel). No siphon can lift any water up from a well.

      @MuhammadFrazAslam 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@rapetirams5005Brother it is common if you are a scientific person. You can even do it with just a pipe. Put a pipe into a drum full of water, now blow in air from your mouth with full power until water inside the tank elevated to the upper lid of tank and then suddenly lift the end which you are holding to the ground. The water will now flow from inside the tank to the outside of tank. Keep note until there is water in tank and no air bubbles in pipe, it will continue. WATER TANK MUST BE ON SOME HEIGHT AND PIPE INSIDE THE TANK MUST BE TOUCHING BOTTOM OF TANK. THE OTHER END FROM WATER WILL COME OUT MUST BE EQUAL OR LOWER TO THE BOTTOM OF TANK. ACTUALLY GRAVITY OF EARTH WORKS HERE.
      THE SCIENCE HERE IN THIS VIDEO IS JUST UPGRADED VERSION OF WHAT I DESCRIBED BY JUST TRAPPING LOW AIR PRESSURE IN THE WATER TANK.
      TRY IT ITS SIMPLE. BUT NOTE IF YOU ELEVATE THE OUTPUT END OF THE PIPE THAT IS BENDABLE TO SUCH HEIGHT THAT IT WILL REACH HALF OR FULL OF THE HEIGHT OF TANK, IT WILL SUDDENLY STOP. I AM FROM PAKISTAN AND GIVING YOU SINCERE ADVICE.

      Sorry, to ruin your physics "Theory", but the water does not stop unless there is a loss of vacuum due to a leak. I'm sure you could find some law that explains that the barrel could not run empty unless something displaces the water. So what do you think is going into the barrel to replace the water? Physics is like saying racist or conspiracy theorist, it's SMU.

      @@wynoose66 on either side of the barrel there are two columns of water (vertical height). Whichever side the column is heavier the water will flow to that side. This is practical side if physics is misunderstood.

    • @wynoose66
      @wynoose66 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@brinstonfernandez7705 yes, I know that. That's how the system works, you have a larger outlet and a small inlet. You ever suck water thru a straw vs sucking it thru a larger hose? They suck into the barrel with a smaller pipe (less column weight) exit the barrel with a larger pipe (more column weight). The exit side does not have to be lower than the inlet, because the greater column weight draws in the lesser column weight. But my reply to you was, the barrel will not run empty unless they suck air into the barrel. I've experimented with different height lift and different size inlet and outlets. It works, but you are limited on height. Multiple small hoses, with one large exit works the best.

    Hello Friends, I tried your project with plastic blue color drum (but thick) with 1 inch pipe for both inlet and outlet, filled the water and open the outlet valve the drum started shrinking from 3 sides and stopped pulling water from the 16 feet well, After I saw TH-cam advice for 3/4 inch inlet and 2 inch outlet, I just reduced the inlet to 1/2 inch (ie., 1 feet from the drum I cut the 1 inch pipe and fixed 1/2 inch small pipe with both the sides reducer). Now after filling water if I open outlet valve the drum starts shrinking from 2 sides and stopped pulling water from well,. The output pipe length is 20 feet and a 3/4 inch valve and again reduced to 1/2 inch for 5 feet , is it ok, please advice to get this project success. Why water stops pulling. No leakage in the inlet and outlet pipes. Air pressure pipe also 1 inch in both inlet and outlet area. After the master valve the air pressure pipe is also 1 inch to the height of the drum.. Please help me. Immediate response will the highly appreciable. I spend around Rs.3500/- for this project but still no success and failure continues ...

    Will only work if your source water level is higher than your outlet or the outlet is lower than the source.
    If source is lower than the outlet the drum will create a vacuum which lead to less pressure and the atmospheric pressure will crush the drum and the outlet stops and sucks air inside the drum and water will flow again and stops again to suck air again the process continues till the drum is out of water. And the intake pipe stops siphoning when the when outlet or output is higher than the highest water level of the source.
    It's not fake he just did not mention it.
    Can even be done without the drum using only pipes.
    It's called siphon not pump.
