The best general breakdown of the weather in CR I have seen on YT! I wanted to visit Manuel Antonio between September and December, and now I know my ideal time would be November to December. Thank you for this!

True video! I live in Playa del Coco, you nailed it, I would only say rains in Coco end middle of November and don’t start again till May 1st, you are absolutely correct June July august are great months to visit, just enough rain to keep the dust down…
We're gonna visit in 2 weeks, hopefully we can get some sun for bird watching! We live in the US but originally from Puerto Rico so we know tropical weather very well and know that daily rain/shower is normal.
Hi Beru. My wife and I are heading there for our honeymoon in a week. She is a biologist and ornithologist. We're heading to the Monte Verde, Antonio M, and Tortuguera. Any special recommendations for birders? Thanks in advance!
@@justinchapin9789 Hey Justin! Congratulations on your union. So for Monte Verde you can always hit up the Monte Verde reserve and may have some luck on the Quetzal. Now we went to another place that is more local called “Curi-Cancha” Reserve and got almost 60 species from 6am till noon. Definitely recommend it and with a guide even more, makes it a lot easier to spot and id.
@@justinchapin9789 For Manuel Antonio, if you are renting a vehicle you can stop in Carara Reserve on the way there (close to the famous crocodile bridge) also would recommend a local birder but definitely worth it! Also please bring long pants and long sleeve shirts with a lot of bug repellent lol it is war out there. Have fun and hope you see lots and lots of birds!
Damn. That's bad. I was seriously considering a trip for our 10 year anniversary and wife's 40th which falls on Sept 28th and Oct 2nd. Thanks for your imput.
This is dead on accurate because the short period between Thanksgiving and Christmas is usually perfect weather. And the most rain I have ever experienced was 9 days of a torrential downpour in October just across the Golfo Dulce from the Osa Peninsula.

To be honest, it rains. A lot! But you don't get cold or anything. I mean I have been on national parks watching monkey and all of that stuff with heavey rain... So yeah it is enjoyable just watch out for thunder stroms they can be dangerous.

It actually depends, I mean I'm from here. Sunrises are great. Around 5 am. If you go to the Pacific. Tamarindo is great, cerró pelado is great also. Most of the beaches are great for sunsets and mountains for sunrise.
Thanks for this! I am considering a move to the Southern Zone which I know is wetter so probably more humid but wondering if the papagallo wind patterns extend down there as well? Also do the winds come in the form of an onshore breeze? That does make all the difference in the world!
