Nebraska 2023, My first Merriam!

Episode 1: Run-n-Gun Merriam Action!
Follow along with Jordan and I as we head west to kick off the first season of Strut Life in Nebraska in search of Merriam longbeards. Low bird numbers and high hunting pressure prove to be a problem but I luck into a gobbler on the final morning!

I killed my first Merriam there in Chadron last April as well.

We rode the struggle bus for a few days, pretty tough hunting out there.

What I learned from videos I've seen and personal experience from the trip is to stay mobile. Those birds roam a bunch so find a bird that's gobbling and get close to his roost or use the land to get around and in front of him or his hens. Rumor has it that bird numbers are way down right now due to the harsh winter. Best of luck to you, feel free to reach back out and tell us how you did!

Anyone wants to trade hunts I’m trying to complete the grand slam and the Miriam and the Rios are ones that I need to harvest. I can put you on deer Waterfowl or Eastern turkeys over 1,200 acres a private land in New York

I made a last minute solo trip to NY late last spring. Struggled to find any birds at all and ended up leaving empty handed.
