  • This video is about my first jungle experience. We spent 2-days in April, 2022 in Nagarahole National Park and our target list of mammals were - Tiger, Leopard, Dhole, Sloth Bear, Asian Elephant and Gaur.
Nagarahole is situated in Mysore/Kodagu districts of Karnataka, India. Along with Bandipur , Mudumalai and Tholpetty/Wayanad Wildlife sanctuary, it is the largest protected area in South India.
Staying in Jungle Lodges, Kabini would ensure a guaranteed Jeep safari into the forest. We took 2 jeep safaris and 1 boat safari on River Kabini. We managed to see around 86 species of birds (ebird trip report - ebird.org/trip...) and all the mammals except Dhole listed above.
Jungle Lodges were set in a tranquil location adjoining the river Kabini and the driver/guides on jeep safari as well as boat safari were incredible. Srinivas, our jeep safari driver/guide's knowledge in differentiating between an animal's alarm call and other calls proved very valuable in providing a magnificent view of a Leopard and Tiger. We thoroughly recommend this experience.
