Royal Ballet Live is such a great idea. I hope the compagny will present another event like that. As I didn't see the video that introduced it, I completely missed the whole day! :(
Classic artists also tend to go to the same schools so it makes sense they'd be networked together having the connections to get someone they trust. Music they trust. Although the contemporary and modern may shine through the classics are a strong foundation .
I am actually a ballet dancer myself except im way younger! Im only 11 and miost of the work and french ballet meanings are what my teacher uses and + i have been doing balllet for 6 years now !
This was really interesting, even as a ballet dancer myself :D When they were doing the exercises near the beginning of the video, I was sat in my armchair pointing my feet along with them :P
By "really?" I meant, "Why would he say that?" I know what pointe shoes are made of, but I didn't hear the "like" in his statement. I'm glad you pointed it out to me, because I'd hate to think an educated dancer, male or not, would believe pointe shoes are made of wood.
haha, I loved that line. I dunno much about ballet, but this women seemed like a great teacher! It was like, yeah, youre awsome, but you still need to improve:)
I get so jealous of these dancers as an inspiring ballet dancer myself - just need to keep reminding myself these have had absolutely years of practice and do this daily! Note to self - find more time to stretch and practice!!!!
Wonderful video. People need to see the preparation and work behind artistic productions. It all looks so easy but is a result of assiduous training and discipline. They should do the same with voice lessons and opera.
I think it's Alina Cojocaru. If you look in the mirror in some of the center exercises, you can see someone wearing a blue leotard who looks incredibly like her.
'and at the end of that shoe is a block, almost like a block of wood' 'to soften the wood or whatever it is' ...:( pointe shoes, forever cursed to be misunderstood as blocks of wood lol
This is gold. I love the teacher, she's wonderful...kind, positive, intelligent and strict
Love watching her teach. Amazing and so classy
For me ballet is simply the best art form that exist. It truely represent grace, beauty, strengh and liberty.
OMG OMG OMG!!!! You can see Marianel Nunez at 05:40 doing her routine so clearly!!

We've now uploaded the full class to our TH-cam channel. All the best
I love this ballet company. Idk if it's the style they teach or just the environment, it's probably my favorite company of all.

That is such a beautiful and ample studio. Love the skylight and the high ceilings.

That's Yasmine Naghdi in the grey trousers and fuchsia leotard. Cool!!!! I took Ballet classes with her before she went to The Royal Ballet School.
Bennet Gartside is my favourite dancer.
The guy finishing his manège is Tristan Dyer. The guy starting is Valentino Zuchetti. ;)
I saw romeo and juliet last year :) it was beautiful
Please do another LIVE day!!!
FULL version please...

Edward Watson's leg muscles are immense :D
i think class is 10:30-11:45 and then they rehearse all day from 12:00
what time do they start?
love how after countless years in the ballet world Johnny Cope still thinks there's wood inside a girl's pointe show haha :P
anybody knows the name of the music in this??
Beethoven
I sure hope so:)
14:32 Alguém sabe o nome dele?
I believe that's Meghan Hinkis
yep mara galeazzi one of the principals
The dancer, Valentino at 14;32... :O I WANT TO MARRY THIS GUY.
I thought the exact same thing x
it' s funny when the italian is doing wrong the teacher speacks in italian...
Is Mara Galeazzi doing class PREGNENT?! Now, that's love for the art!!!!!!
Tristan, the teacher calls his name
I think it's Alina Cojocaru. If you look in the mirror in some of the center exercises, you can see someone wearing a blue leotard who looks incredibly like her.
Tristan is sorta cuuuute.
anybody else notice the pregnant lady with beautiful lines at 2:25.....
it was just getting good and they had to stop!
The guy who introduces the video at the very beginning sounds like Christian Bale.
7:18 pause... holy shit
Marianela Nunez is glorious. Placement is dead. on. I defy someone to say otherwise.
Did he just say pointe shoes are made of wood? Really? >.
Is one of them pregnant!?
