I went to her funeral and left the town I grew up in for 24 years a month later. I've spent every day, every moment seeking for someone to compare her to and help make all of the pain I experience worth it. sometimes waking up is an act of bravery itself but I do it every day despite having nothing anymore. I have had friends come and go, girlfriends almost wives come and go and opportunities slip away. I've had no one to talk to over the last few years as every thing slowly went away and my life became more and more unbearable with my lingering diagnosis, loss of all friends, and so many of those opportunities gone. once when I thought I had an endless font of friends and energy around me it has slowly been zapped away to leave me where I am at today. this song always brings out the worst in me, it makes me cry not just because of losing my best friends but that ever since I've lost her I've lost myself on the way.

Dream theater is so much more than the guitars and the drums. Its their music as a whole. The melodies, the lyrics and Labrie's magical vocals. Love DT.

As wonderful as this song is, it MUST be heard in the context of the entire album, Scenes from a Memory. The full story of the album is deeply touching and something well worth listening to.
Honestly? I’m a huge fan of Scenes from a Memory. It’s my fav DT album by far. But this is THE one song of the whole record that people can appreciate even without knowing the whole context. A lot of people can relate to the grief of losing someone(particularly a young one). That said, when you do get to dive deep into the album’s plot, I find it very amusing that, in this song, the lyrics (which are Nicholas’ thoughts) portray Victoria as this quasi-saint figure, pure and faultless, while in the very next track, Home, they show (in a very… direct way) her cheating on her boyfriend with his own brother.

@@eagleMMMm hi yes very deep lyrics and the spirit carries also.. it's so beautyful and supports you on the moments that you missing that special person. My grandma was for me a ver special for me. I could laugh, cry and feeling save with her. And sometimes i hear myself using her words when i try to see it trough her eyes. What she would say. And i ask her help sometimes and feel she's still around me also after 13 years!

As wonderful as this song is, it MUST be heard in the context of the entire album, Scenes from a Memory. The full story of the album is deeply touching and something well worth listening to.

Honestly? I’m a huge fan of Scenes from a Memory. It’s my fav DT album by far. But this is THE one song of the whole record that people can appreciate even without knowing the whole context. A lot of people can relate to the grief of losing someone(particularly a young one).
That said, when you do get to dive deep into the album’s plot, I find it very amusing that, in this song, the lyrics (which are Nicholas’ thoughts) portray Victoria as this quasi-saint figure, pure and faultless, while in the very next track, Home, they show (in a very… direct way) her cheating on her boyfriend with his own brother.
@@luipars Many of the songs stand on their own merit, but I genuinely think that a concept album needs to be heard in its entirety. It's possible to read a chapter of a book and enjoy it, but without the whole story, it will be lacking something.

It’s from History of Trunks. Goku died but Trunks was going back in the time machine with the antidote to the virus he died by.
