Great tutorial, don't understand why this channel doesn't have a hundred thousand subs, this mans brain is quite literally an encyclopedia of skills and none of this flowery advertising BS. Just straight to the point.
Hello Bex and I thought this video was very interesting and very creative and thanks for showing us and giving us the confidence to do it, many thanks.
Thank you so much! Your video was the only one I found that actually explained start to finish what this tool is and how to use it I’m new to leather crafts and this came in my kit 😊
@@bexbugoutsurvivor veen sewing since I was about 5 but never went awl, I've ordered some leather sheet as well, new sheath for the Seax if I'm learning to use one now :-)
I've used my Speedy Stitcher to repair seams in at least 6 pair of Military pants, have made pockets to repair those with holes in them, repaired seams on gear pouches, & made gear pouches for gear that didn't come with a pouch, sewn patches over holes where my knees are & patches tears in pants & gear that caught on something when I was in the boonies.
@@bexbugoutsurvivor I have saved new overalls legs as the patch, is there anything I can use to pad the corner, it's metal and I want this to last a season or two.
Great Information Brother! I always wanted to learn how to use the awl. Thanks for showing us how to use this useful tool. Have a Great Weekend. Hope you're able to get some trail blazing soon. Cheers from Swansea SC.
Thanx for watching. While I was off line for a bit a while ago, I found some unseen footage from a camp a couple of years ago, might throw it in somewhere. Am readying some tent/bivvy camps soon....bex
I’ll have to give that a go. looks like it’s a handy method for awkward thick layers of material. I repaired a Ww2 canvas Bergen a week or so ago and broke 3 needles and stabbed my thumbs hundreds of times, this method would of been perfect for that job.
I found two 25mm strap adjustment sliders from another project. email me where you want them sent..... bexbugoutsurvivor@gmail.com Don't give personal details in the comments. they wont show up.....bex
The tying off was not clear on the video. Would really love an update. I’m making a custom bag to take medical kit on flights and your video has been a tremendous help

brilliant video Bex. Explains a lot. I have a few pieces with broken belt buckles, carrying straps etc. This will give a second life to it all.
Fantastic!
Haha, decided that handstitching is a bit much on my old paws and searched 'Speed awl'...
Not surprised to find you've done a how-to on them Pal.
A skill well worth learning.....

Bex, any ideas where I would get the adjustment buckles used on the bergen carrying straps
What size webbing (width) is it, that goes thru the adjustment sliders. I might have a few left over....bex
@@bexbugoutsurvivor Bex, the width of the straps are 25mm. Cheers Bex
