This is a fantastic review! Extremely thorough, and it is a genuine joy to see someone on TH-cam who knows how to speak to dogs and reward them. I had a very similar Leer cap on my Ranger for years, and it was awesome. Same issues you’ve covered, except no leaks. Your leaks concern me. Not sure if I’m going to get one for my Ridgeline. One tip I would add for off-roading is to add clamps holding the cap to the bed. I put many hundreds of miles off road on my Ranger, and the four clamps the cap was installed with were insufficient. The cap would shift backwards. In your setup, I’d be worried about the stresses on the fiberglass at the 4 bolt holes where the cap is attached to the bed. I added four additional clamps which were quite inexpensive. I ended up with four clamps per side, and my cap never shifted again. Thanks again for a great review!
Awesome review and dogs. I got the same Leer 100XR for my 2023 Ridgeline. I've had it for about 6 months now and I'm fairly happy with it other than it does leak water somewhere at the front seal. I'll work on sealing the front better that when spring / summer comes. Leer recommends using a graphite lubricant in the window slide slots for easier sliding.
looks great. There are rubber moldings you could buy to get the leaves out between the truck and shell meeting point. That huge gap is throwing me off tbh
Maybe put a rubber and plastic safe penetrating lube on window slides? I'm a retired industrial engineer and current bicycle mechanic, and I've always had excellent results from Tri-Flow. A very small amount... just enough to get sucked in between the window and frame would probably make a huge difference on sliding. Does LEER make taller caps? I'd like to make a bike garage for traveling with a travel trailer. I have a G1 Ridgeline.
I'm willing to try any lube provided it does not attract sand or dust. I have seen taller caps but am not familiar with any that are designed for the ridgeline
Hey! Would you be able to send the link of where you ordered this one? I have the 2022 Ridgeline and I’m interested in getting a quote for mine! Please and thank you! 🙏
@@davidvictory9764 No, unfortunately the Leer is a little out of my budget range. Had to prioritize business over pleasure. But hopefully in the near future I may be able to make the jump, I correctly have the OEM bed cover so I’m happy with that for now

Ouchie
Can air conditioning reach inside the bed or is that gap to wide? I guess i could fashion a square tube between the 2 as well.
