Why the limit is fixed in Rupees ? It should be fixed in grams. The fixing the limit in Rupees, gives a chance to customs guy to dispute the value, as the price of gold changes and is also different in different countries. Why the smart people of Kerala have not questioned this ?
How to calculate gold tax
The value of gold is not the same ebery day, so instead of fixing the value of gold it should be by weight of the gols (Rs. 50000/- has to be expressed as a specified weight viz 10 gms or 25 gms)
