Excellent review!! I really love the Ninja Council series and played a lot as a kid!! I think it would be awesome if they release a collection for modern platforms with the whole series. Just a minor correction at 5:15, the GBA is actually a 32-bit system and that makes the music in Ninja Council 1 sounds even more strange considering what was possible with the GBA.

You're actually missing one of the Ninja Council games in this video. Shinobi Rumble came out shortly after Naruto Vs. Sasuke and is a direct continuation and the last game on the DS before the 3DS game.
Every time I see one of these videos in my feed I know I’m in for a great time. I played all of these growing up. Sadly I only have the first one still as far as the English releases go. I bought a copy of SND4 on eBay years ago once I realized NC3 took out the Sasuke retrieval characters

The only one of these that I actually played as a kid is American NC3, and I hated it lol; It’s so nice to be able to see such a comprehensive analysis across the series of games like these!
The first Ninja Council was my first contact with the Naruto universe. I remember playing the japanese version as a Rom image in a GBA emulator as soon as it was released. I could only speculate what the anime was about, but this curiosity led me to watch the anime proper.
I played the first four games. 1 and 4 were my favorites though. 1 was simple and fun, I liked how you could unlock Kakashi and each character’s fourth Jutsu. Four felt like a big upgrade of the first game. Ninja council 2 was the one I played the least. Three was cool, but the mission structure made it hard to replay.

I'm glad you liked Ninja Council 4, that's my favorite game the Council series, despite people always ranking it as one of the worst Naruto games for some reasons. Though admittedly I spent most of my time spamming special moves instead of doing much else. But that Gaara demon arm level is definitely a highlight still for me.
Lol I thought everyone did this but apparently not. In Ninja Council 1 you’re invincible while charging chakra for a special move and if you keep the button mashed you won’t lose any chakra. So it’s just free invincibility frames. I had a hard time with Orochimaru. So when he used his snake summoning, I just press and held B and the snake passes right through me. Then continue fight as normal 😂😂😂
