    Congrats on your score ! Well deserved ! What tips would you give a Non U.S. recently graduated doctor taking CK before step 1 ? Also, do you plan on publicly sharing your compilation of notes made for CK? :)

      Thanks! In regards to taking CK before step 1 I think that is fine. I would just make sure to review your pathology as it relates to conditions that will be highly tested on CK. Sometimes there are questions that seem more like Step 1 questions but they are related to step 2 topics like OBGYN or Peds. In terms of my notes, I'm not sure how much use they would be since the only notes I really took were about practice questions that I missed, and everyone misses different questions and is stronger with various topics, but I do plan to do an in-depth video all about my study schedule and the way in which I took notes.

      @@jacobpereramd8094 Thank you for the reply. Yes, that would be great. Are you considering making a similar video addressing your Step 1 experience and resources used?

      Hi any advice on writing step 2 ck before step 1? That’s what I’m currently doing as I started clinical rotations without step 1 In attending a carribean medical school so I’m a US IMG and congrats 🎊
      Just subscribed btw 👌🏽

    • @jacobpereramd8094

      Thanks for subscribing! In terms of taking step 2 before step 1 I think that is fine! Taking step 2 will give you an idea of what USMLE exams are and how to study for them so you'll be better prepared for when it comes time to take step 1. Waiting to take step 1 until after it becomes pass/fail will also make it less stressful as it will have less of an impact. Just make sure you study hard for both!

      Hey Med-Vice! I’m writing my CK in a few weeks time - US IMG here. And that 22 page document of factoids looked tempting asf - It’d be great if you could email it to me @salar7991@hotmail.com Thanks!

    Great Job. I only took UWSA1 and 2 and they were similar ranges as yours. In the real deal. I only slept 6 interrupted hours in the 48 hours before my exam and ended up losing at least 5% of the questions unattemped but thank God I got a 261. So I would echo what you said " trust your assessments"

      I don't use Anki. I actually don't like flashcards at all. Just lots of practice questions and reviewing info from my rotations.

      @@JavaughnJPorter I get really bored with flashcards. I need to do active studying so I could never sit there in one spot and do 1,000 flashcards each day. The main theme of anki is repetition and you dont necessarily have to use flashcards to do that. I typically took good notes from my classes and re-read those and annotated over and over again until I was sick....then I would do it again!

    Please, share how you go through a block of questions? How do you handle long stem questions? How long do you spend time solving questions? Any tips on how to deal with or where to start in long stem question? Thank you

    • @jacobpereramd8094
      @jacobpereramd8094  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Shine Arsh All great questions! Feel free to checkout my “study with me: practice questions edition” to get a live look at how I tackle questions and long question stems! In short, I always start with the last 2 sentences because sometimes the other info is fluff and unnecessary and all you need is the end and the actual question itself! I would say on average, during a 40 question block I will have about 10-15 minutes leftover once I’m done so just over 1 minute per question.

    • @jacobpereramd8094
      @jacobpereramd8094  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for your support! I would say that I used First Aid the most during my actual rotations. When there was downtime on a night shift or during the day, I would read through and annotate. I think that most helped me do well on my shelf exams so that all I had to do was a review with practice questions for step 2. And most definitely! I plan on coming out with a more in-depth video on my schedule and studying during my 4 weeks dedicated period for step 2. Step 1 video on the way too!

    P.S you shouldnt ask for subscribers that isn't interested to watch regularly...that kinda push you to the shithole of the youtube algorithm lol..So i ususally give a thubs up and possibly comment on videos i like. and if i stumbled upon a channel multiple times or feel like binge then sub. Just my two cents. Great work btw.
