IVE has already established their sound, idk what kind of crack the producers put in but their songs are addictive tbh

Additive song, caught my attention immediately when I heard it on a playlist. "Woah, what is this song?"
The slowed down prechorus and the 1234567 hook makes the song SUPER CATCHY, those are such simple things but makes the song stand out from their hyper produced sound peers.
It is because its not a drop nor an antidrop its just a big explosion and not common with other groups where they just freaking go out with chorus which is predictable. Eleven is a bop because of how good it is composed and how unexpected the sound is. Like the first second is literally a middle eastern music.
What I like about them is that, they have a rapper, but they don't force to add rap verse just because. That's why they produce songs that everyone would be comfortable listening and vibing into. Just like how SNSD doesn't really have rap parts, but they have a LOT of excellent songs. Nothing is forced.
Yeah rap part could've been forced in and it just wouldn't work. This song just flows really well.
A co-composer explained "Eleven" was taken from "eleven out of ten".
There is a popular theory that lyrics of Eleven and Love Dive are connected.
In Eleven
"Something transparent between me and you, look into it, into the waves, I'm falling in love even more"
"You, the one in front of me, the reflection of me in those eyes, I fell in love"
Narcissus was the man who loved his own reflection on the water surface. If you interpret "something transparent" in Eleven as water surface, it is a Narcissistic song just like Love Dive.
And, on the album cover the song title is spelt entirely in upper case with L, O, V, E and D in black while I, V, E in white. You may reorganize the letter as "Loved IVE".

I'm saying as a Korean, it's very obv that the lyrics to Eleven and Love Dive are both about the myth of Narcissus. I didn't notice this until they made it rlly obvious with Love Dive, but these Eleven lyrics are clearly talking about Narcissus:
"Looking still at the transparent relationship between you and I, I fall deeper into the waves"
and then the continous
"You in front of me, me reflected in your eyes" throughout the song.
But the last line especially is a dead giveaway:
"You in front of me, I've fallen in love with me reflected in your eyes"
Eleven is literally about the myth of narcissus, it's not a typical love song. The love interest they're singing about in the song is themselves. Same for Love Dive. The lyrics for both songs are written in the pov of Narcissus.

Oh wow that Genie reference. I never noticed it and this is what I like about the channel. I’m so musically not inclined but then I listen to them and learn a whole lot of stuff and it’s so cool. It’s so fascinating how quickly they catch onto stuff too. I’m glad that there’s so many elements in kpop songs for them to explore and explain about.
I replayed raffi and Sam guessing “there is a best ___” so many times… the guessing and editing is pure comedy

IVE is the fastest girl group ever to win in a music show; only 7 days after their debut. They also got the most wins for a girl group debut song; a total of 13 wins. 🔥

@Double Trouble but unfortunately you're not korean, they still consider them as monster rookie. And it doesn't change the fact that even they re-debuted they still tied with Ive as the fastest GG no matter what generation they come from.

no cuz the instrumental is pretty bare but when you add in the vocals it sounds so much fuller😭😭
this is one of my favorite reactions by far. there were a lot of key highlights from them. i love the hook of "1,2,3,4,5,6,7. you make me feel like 11" is so addicting. the ritardando in the prechorus almost feels trance like as it goes into the chorus
jason, i, too, would like to know how yujin moves her hips so fast.
i just love how, in an era where most groups were debuting with a girl crush/teen crush/dark concept and really hardcore songs that were trying to one up each other, ive just went "nah" and debuted with an elegant melodic song about first love. and EVERYONE loved it.
I love the rit on the prechorus line personally because it allows the chorus to infuse this like new energy and feel more up-tempo despite the tempo in the verse and chorus actually the same
Like it's kind of illusory in a way? Makes the chorus feel a bit faster when really we're just the same speed as before

if talking purely about the song(exclusive whoever artist performs it), eleven is one of my favorite track from the newer released songs. i love how its produced, executed and felt smart to me.
ive is really lucky to get such a powerful song, specially as their debut.

the moment i first heard eleven, i was really looking forward for you to react to it coz it was so interesting and entrancing. i wasn't sure if you ever will soon coz they're a pretty new group but i'm glad you did. i understand music but i don't really know the terms for it for i didn't really major in music. i knew why the song worked so well but hearing why in music terms is such a joy for me. love the song and your comments on it ^^

Surprised and delighted you chose to react to this song. I thought the producers showed an amazing amount of trust and restraint by letting the members carry the song, not over the top instrumentation. Theirs was the most promising debut I’ve seen/heard in a while - and their sophomore effort “Love Dive” was just as good, if not better.

The one thing about IVEs title tracks, eleven AND love dive, is that they’re so DIFFERENT. not different to the point where it’s indigestible but to the point where it’s confusing for the first listen but so so so so good! No one makes music like ive tbh and I didn’t expect it. Totally stanning shamelessly

Honestly YES. I had the same reaction while hearing the rit, shocked, it was weird and I didn't like the tone at first but then I got used to it and loved it!! Nowadays songs don't event include almost anytime ritardando so that was also really cool to hear!

I listened to this song continuously for MONTHS. I did not expect to like it this much when I first listened to it.
haha, this is a good show. I've heard this song probably 100+ times now and it's still one of my favorites. I think it's brilliant. A lot of kpop songs have experimental or rarely used sound qualities to them, which is something I really like about the genre in general. I also really like mashups and started out the love with Michael Jackson mashups. It's always exciting to see what creative minds have managed to pull off by mating existing songs I already liked into something new. And sometimes, DJs manage to make me like a song I didn't like before because it meshed so well with one I did like in a mashup. Unfortunately, copyright claims are always a threat to remixes and mashups. I often fear that lawyer bots will eliminate mashups and remixes entirely.
I always think of GG because of that Genie line reference but was surprized that it wasnt already raised anywhere..now i feel validated haha😂
