Carrera GT, F1 and F40 is my holy trinity of the supercar world. A complete hypercar package. V12, V10 and V8. Made in UK, Germany and Italy. All are excellent in their own way.
Me too. But I guess the F1 is out of the range price wise. It got so expensive I can't imagine having that much cash to spend on the F1. That sad if I'd be rich to buy the other two, but not enough to own the F1, I think I'd get the Jaguar XJR-15. It's still british, still a V12, born out of motorsport and it gives very similar experience to the F1 from what I have read.
I remember the time my brother brought a car magazine when he returned from a trip and the cover of the magazine was this car.... man, how amazed I was, and still am, by the beauty of this machine!! This is the definition of timeless design! Just stunning! +_+
Perfection. This car is perfection. Over a decade later and the exterior is still beautiful, the interior still looks modern, and the performance is still otherworldly.
Cosmo Smallpiece True. The only issue I have with the Carrera GT, is that Porsche should've added a button or feature that would adjust the car's suspension (lift the front end) so that it could go over speed bumps, etc. Numerous owners have complained that the car is so low to the ground that it scrapes easily.
old school = best school, it will be a sad day when the "newer generation" people will never know what it feels like to experience a manual car and a naturally aspirated petrol engine
It's one of those designs that won't age. It looks better now than it did back when it was launched. There's nothing in the design to age it badly. Just spectacular!
This car is so beautiful! Today we have monsters like LaF, 918 or P1, but if I have to choose between the CGT and 918, I will go for the screaming V10 every day! Great video EVO ;-)
One day, decades from now, when all the petrol is gone, my grandson will ask me: "Grandpa!! What were THE supercars from your time?!" And I shall answer: Pagani Zonda, Lexus LFA and Porsche Carrera GT. In no particular order.
nah for total purity of driving, Ferrari F40, Ferrari 288 GTO, McLaren F1 and Carrera GT. Hell the new 911 R should have a honorable mention. In other words nothing but manual transmission cars and very little to any nanny features.
***** Aventador and Veyron constructed by Audi and Volkswagen. Very nice cars, amazing engineering, but far too clinical to ever be the ultimate supercar. And the Koenigsegg..? Christian is an amazing guy and I love everything about his company. But there's not one model that captures Koenigsegg like the Zonda does for Pagani. I guess Koenigsegg as a company would get an honorary mention.
Timeless design, gets better with age. The engine is a masterpiece and the noise is breathtaking. I remember the days when this car was competing with he likes of the SLR, Ford GT, pagani zonda and lamborghini murcielago. Those were the days man.
I always thought the F40 was peak supercar.. Until the Carrera GT came out.. But the Carrera GT is the peak of all human automotive achievement and will never be topped... ever
First time I've seen someone able to shift that car quicker than a few seconds, every other video I've seen have had drivers take so long to change gear and it sounds awful
they are taking too long, that's why. the super lightweight flywheel and aggressive clutch mean the revs react instantly to throttle inputs. it makes it an aggressive car to pull away smoothly but it means you can heal and toe it like a beast if you put in the effort
To think about 8 years ago just after the recession took hold, F40s were for sale at £250,000 and these not much more. Far better looking than anything Porsche have done since.
Also V10 Viper ... Love too ) Ps : Bad luck how CGT don't have active rear wing with different angles like Veyron that change angle to 55° while braking (
I've been lucky enough to drive one. It's simply the most amazing vehicle I've ever been in. The torque just doesn't quit, and you best check your mirror before stomping the brakes because nobody behind you is going to be able to stop as quickly.
I personally don't like Porsche. But if there's ever been a car they produced and I would seriously consider, it would be this one. The glorious sound this thing makes! Completely streetable and you can take it to the track without having to worry too much about it. One of the best Analogue cars to ever exist.
You guys should watch the video where someone canes a CGT around the Nurburgring. Even has a little cheeky power slide around the last corner. Just search the keywords.
I wish Porsche could replicate the raw essence of the Carrera GT, the 918 is just a glorified Prius, the CGT is basically a musical instrument with a tax disc
Back then I was very young and I guess the SLR, Carrera GT, Ford GT, Enzo but especially the Koenigseggs and Zondas that really shaped my passion for cars.
Over 10 years later and this car still looks absolutely amazing
And that sound...
yes just like the 918 is now
I don't see the 918 looking this fresh 15 years on
Nah man, i think 918 looks a bit outdate compare to its counterparts. 918 actually looks alot like the carrera GT LoL
Over tens years later and the car looks like a 996 Boxster.
Most underrated supercar ever. Ultimate performance/analog mix for it's era. Up there with the F1 and F40 imo.
Carrera GT, F1 and F40 is my holy trinity of the supercar world. A complete hypercar package. V12, V10 and V8. Made in UK, Germany and Italy. All are excellent in their own way.
+storck08 I wish I could see them all in my garage one day :)
Me too. But I guess the F1 is out of the range price wise. It got so expensive I can't imagine having that much cash to spend on the F1. That sad if I'd be rich to buy the other two, but not enough to own the F1, I think I'd get the Jaguar XJR-15. Exactly !
@@storck08 I would get the XJ220 but if Turbo is not your thing, XJR-15 it is.
Carrera GT, E60 M5, LFA... High revving V10s just sound the absolute best.
CGT definitely my favorite supercar of that era.
they have the best sounds
I'll be honest I like the sound of Audi/Lamborghini's V10 quite a bit more than the BMW lump.
*****
You should check out my channel if you like the E60 M5 ;) I'm always looking for ideas of videos to make with mine.
+TheBucketOfTruth I agree the audi v10 porsche v10 and the LFA is the best
talking about high revving V10s - 905C
This will be forever my unobtainable dream car. Simply gorgeous.
Best sounding car ever made... that or the LFA
v10's are boss!
+Ebonix not all of them, viper isnt that good sounding🤔
I wholeheartedly agree
+RUE5 EK4 I agree
+RUE5 EK4 I love the sound of the viper...but I think its more the association of the sound that I love more than the sound itself
This and the LFA are the only cars that truly howl. It's amazing how unique of a sound a car can have.
They both sound like living, breathing beings.
Lfa a little bit better sound, more smooth, higher rev. GT is a little bit more raspy
The Zonda F howls too, but with a V12
Aventador?
The Murcielago V12 sounds better than any Ferrari or Aston V12.
Thumbed up the video before even playing it.
Agreed
One of my all time favorite supercars. Its just so beautifully simple.
Everytime I hear a full throttle gearchange in the CGT I get goosebumps.Greatest sound ever made by a car.
I remember the time my brother brought a car magazine when he returned from a trip and the cover of the magazine was this car.... man, how amazed I was, and still am, by the beauty of this machine!! This is the definition of timeless design! Just stunning! +_+
This is the best car Porsche has ever made! Sounds beautiful, looks beautiful and is so exciting.
One off my favourites Porsche and one off the best supercars ever made in my opinion.
The last manual gearbox supercar...
Perfection. This car is perfection. Over a decade later and the exterior is still beautiful, the interior still looks modern, and the performance is still otherworldly.
The best and most raw driving experience and drivers car for the street and track.
Sooo much more desirable than a 918. For the sound alone
Totally agree. The stick plus the engine make this car my favorite super car by far, and am not a big mid-engine super car guy.
***** ..and all the positives! Race cars shouldn't be easy to handle.
+alfamonk exactly
Good race cars should be easy to handle.
huh you will change your opinion once you drive them in real life
To me the Carrera GT looks a little better then the 918...
I agree
Sounds better too.
Cosmo Smallpiece

10 years and still loking amazing. my favourite supercar
this guy is the best reviewer on all u tube, so smooth so honest and straight to the point, and no negatives.
Thank you Evo. Thank you so incredibly much!! Quite possibly the best video that captures the pure howl of the CGT.
Thanks Evo for the great moment! This car is the one to have, manual gear, v10, sound of heaven, and beautiful design.
To me, this is the true definition of perfection. I would do almost anything to be able to own a car like this.
old school = best school, it will be a sad day when the "newer generation" people will never know what it feels like to experience a manual car and a naturally aspirated petrol engine
Greatest sounding car ever
LFA
@@galetinm no
Best Car ever made!
1000 % agree 👍
Besides being incredibly capable, with a one of the best ever engine sounds!
This car is just a timeless beauty!
what a sound
It is the most amazing car ever
Childhood Dream Car
Absolutely beautiful! I have no words. No words. Its a 100% a future classic.
Best sounding car ever made. Thanks for the video
Timeless design...
It's one of those designs that won't age. It looks better now than it did back when it was launched. There's nothing in the design to age it badly. Just spectacular!
Car is so sick. The engine sound is just so incredible. Call me crazy but I'd rather have one of these than the 918
your crazy
Your not crazy at all
So you’d rather die than have a 918?
This car is so beautiful! Today we have monsters like LaF, 918 or P1, but if I have to choose between the CGT and 918, I will go for the screaming V10 every day!
Great video EVO ;-)
In my top 3 dream cars of all time - simply gorgeous
Love the scream she emits. Unique in all the right ways.
One day, decades from now, when all the petrol is gone, my grandson will ask me: "Grandpa!! What were THE supercars from your time?!"
And I shall answer: Pagani Zonda, Lexus LFA and Porsche Carrera GT. In no particular order.
Your grandson will be in good hands sir.
Koenigsegg? Aventador? Bugatti?

My ultimate dream car, on my birthday, from my favourite magazine...... and I've done the lottery for today. Come on omens, don't let me down.
It's hard to believe you can buy a speciale aperta for more money than this. This is 10x the car.
I always thought the F40 was peak supercar.. Until the Carrera GT came out.. But the Carrera GT is the peak of all human automotive achievement and will never be topped... ever
Absolutely agree 👍
Peak of all automotive achievement? Never topped?
*BUGATTI HAS ENTERED THE CHAT*
one of my all time favourites..... d design n dat engine note......wwooowww
It' s always a pleasure hear the breath of the engine on a supercar with manual gearbox!
WHAT A CAR!!! Thank you guys thats made my afternoon :-)
A 1250kg Manual 3 pedal 600 BHP V10 Porsche. Still the greatest.
But they say it's weights 1380 kg
First time I've seen someone able to shift that car quicker than a few seconds, every other video I've seen have had drivers take so long to change gear and it sounds awful
Richard Meadon is an amateur racing driver
they are taking too long, that's why. the super lightweight flywheel and aggressive clutch mean the revs react instantly to throttle inputs. it makes it an aggressive car to pull away smoothly but it means you can heal and toe it like a beast if you put in the effort
It's all about dat heal and toe man
Bye bye calluses
To think about 8 years ago just after the recession took hold, F40s were for sale at £250,000 and these not much more. Far better looking than anything Porsche have done since.
Will always go down as one of the greats. Thanks for this video
That V10 on take off is my idea of perfection!
Almsot 16 years old car. Somewhere btw a supercar and a hypercar, 600hp v10 raw power. The best road legal race care after the mclarn f1
It is a howling wolf. that wonderful car. Porsche is the best of all sports cars !!
One of the best sounding cars ever along with the LFA and the Zonda F
Totally agree. There is something about that high pitch scream they have.
Imo Zonda Cinque is actually better than F
+Sabino Costa also Zonda 760 RS
Also V10 Viper ... Love too )
Ps : Bad luck how CGT don't have active rear wing with different angles like Veyron that change angle to 55° while braking (

every single piece of this car is piece of art....
Best sounding car of all time.
Possibly one of the best sounding cars EVER!!!
I personally don't like Porsche. But if there's ever been a car they produced and I would seriously consider, it would be this one. The glorious sound this thing makes! Completely streetable and you can take it to the track without having to worry too much about it. One of the best Analogue cars to ever exist.
Still looks and sounds gorgeous.
one of favourite cars!!
This ages so much better than the Enzo
Absolutely agree
Great video, but could we get a non voice version? Just the car screaming that beautiful V10 sound
It’s a car magazine channel so he wouldn’t be allowed to
this masterpiece Will never get old... my top 1 of all time
My favourite car - just gorgeous and sounds incredible too.
I would much prefer this to the 918,and the sound of that engine is just amazing. This is 10yrs old and it still so originally beautiful.
Beautiful car aside, some of the videography work in this is exceptional
You guys should watch the video where someone canes a CGT around the Nurburgring. Even has a little cheeky power slide around the last corner. Just search the keywords.
I need to get to work, then this comes up. I guess I'll be late.
Automotive engineering and passion at its finest!
That's my favourite car to drive of all time.
That V10 sound makes me weak in the knees. I doubt anyone will be able to make such a beautiful and expensive sounding engines again.
#1 car for me. Pity drivers keep destroying them.
True, unfortunately 😢
I wish Porsche could replicate the raw essence of the Carrera GT, the 918 is just a glorified Prius, the CGT is basically a musical instrument with a tax disc
The best looking Porsche ever created. Oh and the glorious V10 howl. Absolute icon.
I love this car!
Timeless beauty.
This car is now over 10 years old and I'd still rather have this than any modern Ferrari or lambo
A 1 oh yea?
A 1 me too, any day, every day and all day.
Oh wow
Carrera gt is my favourite dream car ever. Gorgeous ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
It howl's like a wolf, what a sound
It's so beautiful
Sounds better than the LFA IMO.
I didn't need to watch it to give it a like. I just knew it would be incredible.
those rev-matched downshifts. hooo boy am i jealous
This will always be one of my favorite cars
Sounds incredible!
That sound! Love!
This and the Ford GT are the best cars of the 2000s

one of the best top 5 for me
One of the best sounding engines of all time...

Nope. The 930 was named the Widow Maker long before the CGT.

To me this car was and still the most beautiful Porsche
Who else thinks that car doesnt even look that old? One of my Favourite cars for sure! Glad i can atleast drive this beast in Forza Horizon 3 :D
Can I just say the go pro on the left behind the door is shooting at what appears to be 15fps.
Coolest thing about this video is those beautiful L-1011s parked in the background.

*Maserati MC 12

Doesn't get better than GT Silver!
He is amazing at upshifting and downshifting
