Keffiyeh patterns and colors arent as 'codified' as Clan Tartans. Certain colors can be representative of ideologies to certain people in certain places overseas, but again, it's not something universally accepted.

In America wear what you want to, too bad if anyone gets offended by it. If you go to other countries where the Shemagh/Keffiyeh are considered part of their custom/tradition/tribes/clans/family/political/social/religious status, you bet it might be a good idea to do your homework for what's appropriate.
I wear one for, harsh elements, hydration, hot brass and now COVID-19...

Most coloured shemaghs have nothing to do with clans or what part of the middle east your from I. E yellow blue and mixed colours are not traditional they are made for export to Western country's some people on this channel need to do there home work instead of spouting off

The point the author makes is intelligent and valid. I will be changing to a solid colour. I want the benefits of this garment, and I want to be respectful of the culture who created it.

I use a shemagh in combination with a camo jersey while doing nature photography. Breaks up my outline and helps me blend in with the surroundings. I’ve got a variety of colours that can work with the various environments I photograph in. Went to an air show last year and loaned my wife my Tilley hat then used a shemagh as my sun cover. Thanks for the info.

I got one recently to cover my bald very white brain bucket to keep it from boiling in its own juices. After all a million or so desert dwellers cant be wrong. The fact that it keeps my neck from turning lobster red and my ears from becoming krispy snack food is an added bonus. Oh and also keeps the dust out of my lungs when on the sidexside. A very niffty fashion trend. But I love your solid colour one. I haven't seen those before. Cool. Thanks.

I recommend buying Hirbawi keffiyeh/shemaghs, they are the last Palestinians making them since Israel took most of the land and the Chinese and Indians started mass producing cheaper and not as good versions when they became a trend in the west.
They also do lots of different designs from the black and white fishnet pattern to ones symbolising regions of Palestine to pure white
Oh and btw the Keffiyeh has nothing to do with religion, it's not an Islamic piece of clothing like prayer caps or hijabs it's just a cultural and regional thing
