Anne of Green Gables is one of my favorite books. Anne is such a fascinating and lovable character. I think my favorite character in the story is Matthew. His shy and introverted nature touches my heart. Thank you for your thoughtful analysis. I love all of your videos.

Oh I fully agree! As much as I love Anne, Matthew is my favourite, too. He's so gentle but he has a huge heart and good instincts. And thank you so much, that makes me so happy to hear 🥰

You did indeed open the door to past memories. When it was assigned to my 6th grade class, we guys wanted nothing to do with a girly book. Most of us got Ds. The girls got As. Later our teacher explained: it wasn't so much the content, but to see if we had the skills to read, comprehend, & explain the meanings behind the characters & what the author was conveying to the reader. Lesson learned. Surprisingly, I did enjoy the story. But I would never admit that at that age. So good to see Niles doing well. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go feed the mule 😁

Haha, I can see how young boys might find this too girly! I'm glad you could still enjoy the story though. 😊

I never read it until college for fun. I did the audible version with Rachel McAdams, a delight!

I've found your channel yesterday and I already love your content. It helps that we share many opinions on specifically Jane Austen's work. I love Anne of Green Gables dearly, and I recommend also trying to find and watch Anne of Green Gables (1985) and Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel (1987) after you finish reading at least the first three books. That adaptation is imo far superior to any other out there and even though not always faithful to the source material, still amazing and highly entertaining ♥️ (maybe you already have, it's been some time since this video was released, but if not, I think you'll enjoy it)

in this platform full of how to be rich, how to succeed in life, how to be good at work.. sometimes you just really want to rest and immerse yourself in a book like the old days. Just when your dilemmas are the stories you'd like to finish, and you have all the time in the world to ponder about what you've just read. I dont have the time now to read, and your summary saved me from corporate boredom. So, thank you.

I remember going to a musical adaptation of the book which I have never read.I suppose back then I was removed from the material and couldn't really relate to it,but your treatment certainly makes it sound warm and engaging.

Hopefully you feel more familiar with it now so that next time you come across it, you can relate a bit more to the material! 😊 I'm glad you liked the video!

Today, June 4, is my birthday. I won't reveal my age because your viewers would be surprised. I rewatched some vids. This is my fav, because of the setting: th-cam.com/video/nr4ownWLOoU/w-d-xo.html The review was excellent, but it felt like I was at dinner with a friend. So glad you're still posting, & achieving your dream of publishing. Perhaps among the best of gifts, is seeing you succeed. A great comfort to the heart. Life is indeed tough, but you have many good things to look forward to. May bright stars & good fortune be your guides 🍷

Oh happy birthday Len! I hope you had a pleasant day! 🥳🥂
Heh I do agree that the setting feels very nice and cosy in that one! I'm quite proud of how it turned out. And thank you for those kind words. It truly means a lot. 😊
