BEST... INSTRUCTIONAL...VIDEO...EVER! My son has a 2014 Genesis sedan 3.8 that was leaking oil like a sieve....developed slight rod knock on acceleration, which a dead giveaway for crank journal bearings on these cars. Bought a $1,200 Ebay motor, $400 worth of equipment from Harbor Freight (engine hoist, engine stand, trans jack), and watched your video 5 times....1 week later motor installed and purring like a kitten! You rock!
I’ve been searching for a video like this for so long and never did so I winged it. Pulled more stuff apart then I needed to, but this will help me so much as I move forward with my Disassembly. Please post more content on the 3.8 please theres not many videos going into detail. You’ve gained my views 100%
Doing one this week for the used car department at a offbrand dealership. Want to thank you for your thorough video. Pics worth a thousand words. Hopefully can get it pulled in 2hrs like you! Respect from Fort Myers, Florida
Can I please get a re-install video for a manual having trouble getting my engine to fully connect to my manual trans and line up completely with my motor mounts
So I followed every single one of your steps. My engine is a little different even though it’s also a 3.8 Genesis Sedan. Swapped the engine, but will not fire up. We get it cranking but will not start. I’m getting fuel. Going to test for spark however I think that may be the case. What should my next move be? Please help.
Do you think it is easier to drop the entire engine cradle with the transmission? Need to undo strut bolts and cradle bolts also how ever you can undo the brake lines so they can be dropped. If you can list anything I left it would be a help as I am going to attempt to drop the cradle because I don’t want to deal with leaving the trans in (don’t want to support it on lift till new motor arrives is a week or so nor do I want to align it when I put the motor back in)
I have one plug I can't figure out where it plugged into. It's the plug at the firewall, right next to the temp sensor that goes into the fluid cooler jacket. I am baffled 🤔😑
No Jeremy, it is not. However, be forewarned that upon putting it back together, don't strip any more head bolts that hold them onto your block! (It's an unexpected setback) I know it is. Lol

Any chance you can do a video on transferring the wire harness from old engine to new one
Great video , I agreed can you do an install video as well?!😌🔥🔥
You are a great man👍🔥

Do you think i could safely use this guide to a remove a 2010 3.8?
Brilliant
Do you have to pull the whole front crash bar, radiator, etc. or can I pull it out without pulling it all off
Wow very useful to me
Out of curiosity, does anyone know if this guide would be the same or if theres anything different on the Bk1 Genesis Coupes? 2010-2012
Once you disconnect the hood latch cable is there any way to pop the hood up again?
Do you need to pull the trans with if it’s a manual

How do you vacuum out the ac lines?
Is it nessisary to remove the engine in order to re do the head gaskets?
