I just picked it up and love it!!! My first DAP and outperformed my expectations! The UI is snappy and soundstage delivers wide with excellent bass! Works great for my private listening and for my car when I'm on the go! It's a great DAP and very satisfied!
Which DAP would you suggest between Hiby R6 III, Shanling M3 Ultra and iBasso DX170? I like all kinds of music and my consideration will be a wide soundstage with maximum details. Thank you in advance.
R6 III is more neutral than both Shanlings, leaning towards the M7 sound. It isn't that powerful and it's not that punchy or natural sounding in its stock form, but after playing with plugins, Class-A and MSEB settings then it will compete with both, albeit offering a lower battery life. Out of the box, you need to spend some time until R6 III will start wowing you.
@@Soundnews Thanks for your opinion, I tried the M6 Ultra and also M7 at the shop and have to say I like the shanling sound, especially M7 even though I like the M6 Ultra for its more natural sound... thank you for your time
Great review! Would like your advice between Eversolo DMP A6 and this Fiio R7, if I can only buy one, which one would you recommend? And why? Your inputs and opinion would be very appreciated. 😊
Thanks for the review, just wondering hows the battery life if you are using Bluetooth headphones? Most specs listed only when connected to balanced or 3.5. They seem to have huge battery, should last longer?
I would like to know how does the Hiby R6 Gen III match up with the FiiO M11 Plus with ESS? I am planning to get a DAP but could not decide between the two.
I'm going with Hiby r6 gen 3 it has a lot more features, and it has android 12 the fiio's m11 is only android 10 which means Hiby r6 gen 3 should have better battery life and because Hiby r6 gen 3 has like two different equalizer the bass is not going to be a problem.
R6 III in it's stock form reminds about the M11S sound, in Class-A mode it's a different animal and with MBSEB enabled (sound enhancements) you can make customized it a lot more.
@@geoffk6375 Hi Geoff, it's amazing - I love it! I'm using it in my car as well as for late night listening. It has that smooth Shanling sound with a slight mid-bass lift that's great for Electronic music. Also it's very ergonomic and extremely portable. I'm sure you'll love it too!
Does the R6 III supports moving apps like tidal to the micro sd, so I could download my playlist onto the sd card and not the internal storage to use tidal offline?

I'm looking for an android DAP to complement my HiBy RS2 which is very natural but not powerful and does not pair well with warm IEMs, I need something that's Musical and Dynamic or Powerful sounding and R6 Gen III does not seem to fit that description well, atleast not in stock settings. I don't want to mess aroumd with EQ and setting so what other DAP would you recommend in this price range or slightly above? I'm curious to know if MSEB works with MQA tracks on other HiBy DAPs? On my HiBy RS2 it does not.
What's the player's charging time? I've received it today. The charge was 30%. I was charging it for 5 hrs with a 2A charger and it's still 90%. What is wrong?
Its probably set to a battery saver mode if that's a think for this player. My S21 phone has a battery saver mode that sets a max charge of 85%. It increases the life of the battery.
I share the dilemma. There is much to like about both. I am leaning to the m3 ultra though I wish it had dedicated line out, bottom side jacks and the ability to run launchers.
Does this R6 Pro II player have enough power to drive headphones, specifically the classic Sennheiser HD 650 (SPL 104)? Some reviews imply it is tailored to ear buds, and is "relatively low powered". No doubt this unit has superb sound, but if it cannot drive my headphones, I will look elsewhere. Please advise.
That's what I would like to know, also the release date as its available for preorder but no release date is listed. The RSII costs a lot more so I would hope its much better but it has the same ram and running the same version of snapdragon. I have learned from buying the $1,800 AUD Sony walkman, spending a lot doesn't guarantee a good product as it has So many issues it souldn't for the price and I will be returning it for a full refund and buying a Hiby player.
@Soundnews Could you please advice how is H7 vs M6 ultra? Headphones HD800s. I don't need portability, use at work. Thank you. P.S. m6 Ultra I can buy same price or a bit cheaper P.P.S. now using DX300 with amp13 and it still too much/bright details and not enough "body"
Did you try the h7 optical and spdif input ... is it synchronous.... looking to use it for a crossover and two/three to sync up without delay.. i dont trust to be able to sync many dacs that are doing async reclocking Also can we use it without problem while charging without change in sound... important
@@dgukov Shanling H7 is currently the best portable DAC/Amp combo I've tried. It has enough body, warmth and smoothness, but it needs at least 100 hours of use until it starts showing off those traits.

Does it work ok with spotify
Yes. But it’s better to use Tidal, qobuz or deezer.

Does the USB-C port, output audio? Or is it simply for charging? Wondering the best way to connect this to a Car Stereo.
In general, android supports audio from the USB port. Some require a dac chip. If you have a dac it will work though.
I drained the battery and charged it while it’s turned off, took about 6 hrs to go 100%.
Im thinking about this one or the Fiio M23. What's your recommendation?
I guess what I am hearing is that a Sony NW A306 with a simgot DEW4X attached wipes the floor with Hiby R Gen3 all day long. Interesting.
whats the difference between this and the LG V60 ThinQ with quad dac as a music player ? its an old phone but is only 150 with a dac built in

The problem with the M11 is the growing battery after 6 months.
Have you tried ibasso dx 170? If so it better than this? If you have ever tried ibasso, would you prefer ibasso or hiby?
