I have said it before and I'm sure I will say it again, they just don't make cartoons like they used to back in the 80s! And unfortunately I don't think that they will ever again 😕 And that's just a sad commentary on where we're going as a society!
    Great video once again!👍👍👍👍

Idk cartoons are actually better these days than in the 80's and early 90's. Nostalgia can make things seem better in retrospect than they actually were. Now Ghostbusters and Ninja Turtles was the shit back in the day but a lot of the other ones were actual shit. lol!!

My mom was glued to this. Heroes like in her time. Monsters she thought were extreme. She loves horror and satire like this. She is gone now. But I still watch it. I even turned the comic into a nine part video comic on my channel. I added extra artistic elements elements to augment it. Fun to work on.

Inhumanoids was a really unique toy line/cartoon and, yes it was the monsters that really sold the idea and toys back then. My brothers and I had a bunch of the monsters, but none of the human figures that I can remember. I still have the leader of the bad guys 'Metlar' as well as 'Redlen' and 'redsun' which were the Redwood good guy tree creatures.

    • @MrMicklethal
      @MrMicklethal 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@jamisonfrey3452 I was incredibly lucky...most of them were bought in three weeks. Woolworth's was going out of business so my wife and I went to see what we could buy cheap. They had three aisles jammed with toys with orange "Clearance Stickers" on them. The first trip we bought nothing but *Inhumanoids toys.* I barely looked at the other two aisles. The next trip I found the Sectaurs toys, I never even heard of them but they looked so cool I had to get them. This was pre-internet so I used the pics on the boxes to figure out which toys I still had to find. When Woolworth's closed those two collections were about 80% complete. The next few years I found the rest. The Sectaurs have a huge *_"Hyve" Playset"_* which was their answer to He-Man's Castle Grayskull. I was walking through Present Company (another store no longer in business) one day and I found the Hyve for $6.99. LOL I don't know about other toy collectors but I can tell you where I found every piece I have. I've seen the Hyve on eBay go for a 1000 dollars in the original box. About halfway through our buying spree my wife was getting a little antsy about the money we were spending and I kept telling her these would be worth a lot of money in a few years. But inside my head I'm secretly thinking *_"OMG I hope these things are worth something someday!"_*

@@MrMicklethal Wow!! That's a cool story, dude. Sounds like you really hit the jackpot with those finds. I remember the Hive playset. I never had the pleasure of owning one myself, but I would have liked to.
Yeah, I'm like you in that I can remember where I got just about every piece In my collection. I think it's a collector's thing lol. The 80s had so many great properties to collect too. My favorite is the He-Man stuff, but I've also got stuff from G.I. Joe, Battle beasts, Dino-Riders, Transformers, Inhumanoids, Madballs Ghostbusters, Thundercats and I feel like I'm leaving out a ton lol.
Who's your favorite Inhumanoid figure? I've always liked Decompose. I got him for my birthday one year when I was a kid. A friend of mine accidentally dropped him and his head broke off. I was not happy to put it nicely. I used to love the open up ribcage gimmick that Decompose had. As I mentioned before, I didn't have any of the human figures from the line. But that was ok. It just meant that He-Man/Inhumanoids crossover battle events would rage across my bedroom floor. Good times, indeed.

This show really highlights what kind of educational prowess and maturity that was expected of American pre-teens back in 1985 as opposed to now.
This cartoon had some really heavy-duty themes and a certain amount of educational growth was obviously expected just to even begin to follow and understand this show.
Not only expected but was such a reality it was an afterthought not even remotely considered you understood and comprehended.
Viewed from a certain standpoint this classic cartoon puts a huge spotlight on an crisis that has obviously gotten worse as time passed by....
    Time passes...will you?

The Inhumanoids can be argued as one of the first US animated series with a more serious bent (like Spiral Zone and The Pirates of Darkwater). But it wasn’t as successful as Transformers or G. I. Joe. Heroine Sandra Shore (sister to villain Blackthorne Shore) bears resemblance to G. I. Joe’s Scarlett (as would the later Jasmine in Conan the Adventurer).

Thundarr The Barbarian was the first really dark cartoon in the U.S. Every episode began with the destruction of the entire planet, and the eradication of every civilization.

I wish to one day see these beasts being brought back, even if it were just a cameo or a crossover with some of the more successful series.
Imagine Autobots and GI Joes fighting against Decepticons and Inhumanoids.

Thank You muchly for this in depth analysis. I read this in comic form about 35 years ago. Think it was a back-up to the Transformers comic, maybe Action Force (I could look it up but want to do this from memory) and even in that form it stood apart from other works. Very intense, dark and left on a cliff-hanger of the halves of magnicore being defeated unleashing the terrifying Boss. Took years, maybe decades before I found out what happened. ha
