The additional plate for M16 helmet is called Stirnpanzer, German wwl helmets are basicly ww l sallet/, allied helmets are basicly wwl kettlehat. Sallet/ Schaller and kettlehat/ Eisenhut are medieval helmets.
M-1916 "Horns" also were where you could hook the top of your gas mask to! I believe the M-1917 variant had the "horns" modified to make putting a gas mask on quicker and easier....
Is it normal that you cannot order to germany? Because i would like to order the custom m40 helm on the website, then i select the country in which it should be delivered but then it says its not possible.
Hi @DasMonke - No, they are just painted, finished and aged in some cases. I Haven't currently got any good textured images online. More precisely, textured paint (aluminum oxide) or whatever the ingredient added to the paint is called.

Hi, anything with the famous insignia or runes is not allowed to be shipped into germany I'm afraid. that could potentially be what the problem is.
