Installing The Leather Sling On The Legendary Us M1 Garand - A Step-by-step Guide!
HOW TO - Install the leather sling on the legendary US M1 Garand
This is a really common question for us and one of the reasons we have decided to do little "HOW TO" video.
How to install the sling on a M1 Garand, this is the standard way of doing it, there are a few other ways which we may get into in the future.
A little bit about the sling:

WW2 Reproduction American leather sling for the M1 Garand semi-automatic rifle.
Originally designed for the US 1903 Springfield rifle it was reintroduced during WW2 for the M1 Garand. The sling is comprised of two pieces, the short strap features the metal sling loop and double hook and the longer length with another double hook and two leather sling keepers. This is the classic WW2 tan brown style sling.

Good day. I am interested in the replicas of the German helmets from your website. Do you send them to Serbia? And how much would the transport costs be? Thank you in advance for your reply.
Hello!, Would you be able to do one on the canvas sling, No idea if its the same as the leather, Mainly asking because im most likely gonna buy a sling for a garand at Epic Militaria.
Hi, thanks for your message. yeah sure, I will do one for you.
0:13 That is absolutely true, I wanted to buy a jacket, but wasn't sure about the sizing, they helped with everything, and also, that jacket turned out to be a pretty great jacket, I love it. I'm really satisfied with you guys!
Awesome, really pleased you're happy with it!!

@@THOMASHISTORY_1 Ah thanks!!! So many good things coming in 2025!!!
@@OfficialEpicMilitaria exciting stuff, what about those gas masks
There coming, watch this space!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't like at all the reproduction of the m-35 show n in this video.
Is it normal that you cannot order to germany? Because i would like to order the custom m40 helm on the website, then i select the country in which it should be delivered but then it says its not possible.
Hi, anything with the famous insignia or runes is not allowed to be shipped into germany I'm afraid. that could potentially be what the problem is.
Malvern ..uk ??? ...or usa
Hi, this is in Malvern UK
Bought a great helmet from you, thanks! Pierre from Sweden.
Hi Pierre, really happy to hear you love your helmet. Thanks for subscribing, I hope you enjoy our channel.
That was fun, looking forward to the year ahead
Do a review of some of your greatcoats, specifically your reproduction of your M40 Greatcoat.
Hi, that's a great idea. Thanks, I will add it to our list of videos to do.
Bu qayerda olinga juda tarixy narsalar borakan
Hi, yeah you can pick up some really good stuff at this show. If I had some more tim ei would have recorded all th eold jeep parts etc too.
Can you please do a review and look over on your German tunics and pants, thanks!
Hi, yes definetely, Is there a particular set you would like us to cover?
Have the new m35 replica helmets improved?
Hi, we use the same manufacturing process as we always have done. Have you got any suggestions on how we can improve them?
@ Many thanks.
Thanks, that's super handy!!!
Thank you, glad you liked it.
We are always open to knew ideas so if you want us to cover anything, let me know 🫡
Not all units were used Let down rope. They were issued to most airborne divisions in 1944. 505th regiments didn’t use them in Normandy but in sicicly
Yeah, the uniform we're showcasing here is the 506th. It's amazing how intricate and different each unit was.
We are starting to create a lot more showcasing videos and how to videos, we would love to know if you have any requests so drop them in the comments, like and subscribe. Thanks
Fun facts....denix luger grips dont fit a genuine luger...denix mp40 magazines do fit a genuine mp40.....real number 4 rifle mags fit the denix smle for that extra bit of realism....denix stg44 mags dont fit a real stg44....denix m1928 thompson smg drum mags fit real m1928 thompson smgs...if you're gonna put a sling on any denix rifle, replace the pot metal sling swivels with real ones, those on denix rifles are not meant to hold weight.
Yeah, Denix are great for getting a certain look, a lot of the deac's are expensive now and quite aged. We're aware of the differences, as well as the colt, luger STG44 grips etc we currently sell that fit the real things, we are in the process of making Luger and Colt grips that fit the replicas like Denix.
@OfficialEpicMilitaria nice..
Videos coming up - Im going to be doing the same for the Colt, the sling for a Garand, and we'll have how to apply helmet decals. Let me know if you have any requests!
Good video. Covered all important areas of the kit. Just be mindful of overusing the word “obviously” a lot.
Thanks, we're starting from scratch pretty much. We'll get there. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment.
Make love not war....
People LOVE to collect memorabilia!!!
outstanding, I just collect but still great information 👍
Hey Matt, thank you very much. We really appreciate your comment.
No
Hi, what does the "No" mean? Thanks
How good are your custom kreigsmarine helmets? Especially the decal as I want to buy a repro, originals are way too expensive
Hey, thanks for your comment. We get some really good reviews of our helmets and they often sell out very quickly so I can only assume that people rate them highly. As much as I want to rave about my own products I would say, have a look at our reviews and make your own mind up. If you want us to customise it for you, have a look at our options available to you here........... www.epicmilitaria.com/german-ww2-militaria/ww2-german-helmets.html
Is that a prop rifle? Pretty sure I couldn't operate mine like that, with one finger
Hey, yes it's a customised Denix reproduction.
What would you like to see us cover in our next video???
Wow, that was useful - not.
HI David, thanks for the view and the comment, You'll have to let us know what you didn't like about it.
Ok then, wannabe Borat😂
@@OfficialEpicMilitaria It seems to me that the US military is forever puffing out its chest - not just you, but in general. When it comes down to it, your history is not impressive - late entry into 2 world wars (including munitions sales to the nazis), failure in Vietnam and Afghanistan. You beat the Iraqis - wow. Frankly, you're all wind and piss.
Hi David, thanks for the comment. I just wanted to highlight we are a British Company, Ship all our stuff our from Wales. I'm not sure how we have puffed out our chest with this video but hey. We just like our military history!!!
I believe the wrist compass was issued to enlisted men and lensatic compasses to officers.
Great thank you. This is the impression of an infantryman, I don't think we sell the US lensatic compasses, we do have the British ones. Might have to look to see if we can get some in.
Great video and an overall pretty good impression. It’s great to see CC2 being mentioned as it’s a simple thing that so many re-enactors ignore. One thing to mention, the 101st airborne generally didn’t use the little dash marks around the helmet insignia in Normandy (there are some exceptions e.g. 3/506 or 377PFAB) but for the most part, they weren’t used until Market-Garden.
Hey Parrotrooper (Love the name) Thank you for your comment. Yeah the CC2 is rarely bought up but an important detail.

@@OfficialEpicMilitaria Yes I checked last night ive been checking almost every other day

@@OfficialEpicMilitaria will do! 😀
@@YellingRebReenacting Hey yo, M35 back in stock 👍👍
I had 2 uncles in the 101st.that went in on D-Day.
HI Charles, that's really interesting. Do you know much about their service? What regiment were they in?
They never talked about their service and didn’t keep their uniforms. I wish they would have kept something. Rather sad.
Ah, that's a shame. Completely understandable though I guess. Really pleased they both made it home.
Total respect and many thanks to them.
you have a site
Hi Matt, yes we have a website - www.epicmilitaria.com. Did you see something on the video you like?
@OfficialEpicMilitaria no but Im always looking for stuff,I'm trying grow my collection, only bn doing this for a few yrs but I absolutely love it
That's awesome, really happy you're enjoying it. You have many items and many years to collect them lol
Where can I find out about a German helmet my father brought back from Europe. We think it’s Naval. He was on the French coast late June 1944
Hi, feel free to send us some pictures to contact@epicmilitaria.com, subject line FAO Tom. We can have a look and try to identify it for you.
I've not been to a militaria show for years, there used to be a good one in Birmingham (uk) at the motorcycle museum, i'v collected militaia for year's, unfortunately army surplus shops are becoming a rare breed 💂♂️
They are, these shows are great and really seem to be keeping it all going. We deal mainly in reproduction for reenactors, movies and TV etc
I am very happy to have just bought some genuine ex swiss navy clogs! And a couple of genuine ex Congolese navy deckchair!😂
All of the necessary stuff haha. Some real good finds there!!
There's a military museum in the next town to me and the owner claims the MG 42 in the case is genuine, it obviously isn't because it's far too small but she won't have it.
I love the M92 B826
Yes great helmet. Still carrying on with the standard shape that seemed to be perfected from 1935 onwards. Thanks
I hear a lot of goofy things about the UK like you cant have German WW2 stuff with the N stuff on it and you cant have modern firearms especially semi auto stuff but Im seeing tables full of firearms off all types and death heads gallore! Someone explain please?
Hi, it’s frowned upon by the general public but not illegal. I wouldn’t advise goose stepping down the street in full SS though 😅 Guns wise, the Uk is full of grey areas. You can buy a repro bazooka without any sort of affiliated license but you cannot buy a replica firearm like a Denix. I’m pretty sure you can buy deac without too, but not a airsoft gun without a UKARA (except for the painted ones) you have to be 18 to buy a kitchen knife or a razor blade but fine to go to a garden store and buy an axe. 🤷♂️
Hi, yeah it's a minefield of caution here in the UK, it's a mad balance of law, morality and common sense. What's it like where you are?
@@OfficialEpicMilitaria Im in the USA. We have mostly gun shows out here which the firearms are good but the military collectibles are a toss up. Sometimes you get some great stuff but other times nothing. I missed out on some WW2 Imperial Jap Army stuff that I should of got when I could. Best advice I can give is get the stuff when you can dont blow it off!
Honestly it looks like the usual selection of fake/repro tat, common genuine items, overpriced deacts and general car boot stuff. Malvern isn't a patch on what it used to be.
Video was not a good representation of what was there. There was some really nice stuff and I’m afraid the deacs are no longer over priced. It’s what you will expect to pay wherever you go although there are still some good deals to find. And for the price you pay (£7 pp) it really isn’t that bad compared to some of the other shows (stonleigh) and I came out with more items for my collection.
Was just thinking that pal , didnt see one genuine militaria stall in the film
5:40 army Gost activity spotted in this video!!!!
Haha did not notice that but that’s hilarious.
Thats amazing, I'll have to make a short out of that one!!
Malverne Long Island, N.Y.?
Nope it’s in the uk
3 counties showground Worcestershire...
No unfortunately we cannot travel that far for these shows. In Worcestershire, UK.
The additional plate for M16 helmet is called Stirnpanzer, German wwl helmets are basicly ww l sallet/, allied helmets are basicly wwl kettlehat. Sallet/ Schaller and kettlehat/ Eisenhut are medieval helmets.
