Story 3: medical tattoos on children are a thing. I heard a story about a pair of identical twins, and one of them had a medical issue, and after an incident where the wrong twin was given the medicine, the dr's suggested that the twin with the condition be given a medical tattoo, which did end up only being a dot near their ear, it is still an instance where a child got a tattoo and it wasn't a bad thing

They also use tattoos for things like radiation. And sadly, there are newborns with cancer who go through things like chemo and radiation well before their first birthday.

A lot of people don't realize that pets often have tattoos too, depending on where you're from! They're less common these days, but their purpose is usually to give a physical indication that they've been spayed/neutered, they're already under anesthesia anyway so they don't feel it and it's pretty little, sometimes in the ear flap and sometimes on the least furry area of the belly. I remember being so shocked when I noticed our rescue dog's tattoo when I was little 😳😂 and you can only imagine how hard it was for my mother to figure out a way to explain the entire thing to a small child, hahaha. "Right, so she can't have puppies.... but why? But HOW? Who wouldn't want more puppies? Who wouldn't want ALL the puppies?! How do you take away her puppy oven?! Is she sad? 😭" I never accepted simple answers...😂

If there is an HR office, take it to HR and explain the situation to them. Barging into the private space of a sick child, accusing them without any real evidence, getting upset that she isn't fully dressed in her private room that no one is supposed to be going into, then grabbing them and yanking down their pants to violently spank them. Spanking is already contentious as a parental discipline but OP wasn't even HER child which makes it even worse. It isnt even her place to discipline OP if she actually DID do something wrong.

That story of the Karen spanking OP, I swear, had OP been my sister or daughter, that Karen would be in a world of hurt, and there would be police there. I'm a private person, it's taken me most of my life to get my own parents to not just barge into my space when I have the door closed. So if I had a kid who closed their door for privacy, and some lady barged her way into her room, there will be hell to pay, and if she breaks any of her stuff, she'll pay for it in court. If she raised a hand to my family, she'll receive a slap to the face, and my dragging her out of the room by the ear. I don't care what her kid said my kid did, let me handle my child, and let me determine if she's lying.

Because of the side effects she was bruised and swollen (Prednisone) and one of the women in the waiting room said to the others "that is what you see family court". College fund vs business story: NTA! OP, I agree with you. Most kids (I don't care that he's 17, 18 or 19, he's still a kid) fresh out of high school have absolutely no idea of what goes into running a business, let alone a successful business. What you described as courses he should take at the community college is the bare minimum he should have. If he were smart, he would take you up on your offer to work at your business part-time, getting experience, while going to school to see how it operates, even if it's not in the field he wants to get into. And if he agreed to that you should have him work in several different departments/areas to see how each operates and what has to be done for them, separately and together.
Spanking a sick OP story: Good grief! Like little kids never lie when they don't get their way. And given how little actual fabric can be found in many bikini's at most pools and beaches, a sports bra and shorts is extremely modest.

After the first 16 hour day (without making a single sale) he'd be having second thoughts. I had to educate one of my kids around that age on what it takes to run a business, let alone a successful one. All a young person like that has seen of business is Dad taking money out of an ATM. If with 50k, he can't do what some start with 0$, he will at least got a real experience, maybe get a little older and realised that what his parent is asking is not that much of deal... As far as getting a baby tattoo….This was a long time ago…the baby is is now in college… I was friends with the Parents. His Mother was a Karen. She was very pleased that the first grandchild was a girl. She always wanted a girl instead of the 3 sons that she did have. Once she learned a girl was on the way she went all out to get girly things for the baby. She demanded to have total control over designing the nursery, the crib the furniture & artistic designs. Only her outfits could be worn by baby. When my friends rejected her nursery plans she built a nursery of her design in her house. She then demanded to having the baby over every weekend at her house. Then Karen began talking about retiring so she could take over the baby full time during the workweek. FIL didn’t like that one bit. When my friends told Karen that the wife’s sister was going to be the caregiver instead. Sister had a toddler & had a degree was in child care. This really angered Karen.
To the heart of the story. Karen was allowed to take the baby (around 6 months old) for a Saturday morning. When Karen & baby returned Karen had taken the baby to get her ears pierced. My friends were furious at such entitlement. The parents immediately removed the starter earring & told Karen she had lost all baby privileges for the foreseeable future. Karen tried to get other friends & relatives on “her side” but she was met by a solid wall of rejection. For several years the only time Karen saw her granddaughter was at family gatherings. No solo times allowed. My friends had a second child~a son. Karen wasn’t interested.

The conversation went something like this:
Mom: My daughter wants to order a drink.
Waiter: Great. So, what's it going to be?
    Me: A martini, please.
He just stopped everything he was doing, looked at me in pure disbelief, then at my mother, and me again. Literally put his notebook down and stared with such a comical shocked face for a few seconds that i grabbed my bag and just I immediately asked him if he wanted my ID.
It was a fun day, but I found out I hate martinis, lol.

Story 4: Karen may be too tight to get a hotel room but that doesn't give her the right to take over her daughter's dorm room.
Story 5: That is indecent assault as well as assault on a minor. That aunt has NO right to do what she did and deserved to lose her kids in the end.
Story 6: It is illegal to obtain alcohol for an underage person on licenced premises (e.g. a pub or a club) in the UK under Section 149 of the Licensing Act 2003. I suspect it took place in Somerset as the area is known for scrumpy and some of it is so strong that it is only sold by the half pint. The Karen clearly didn't know that scrumpy is different to keg ciders such as Strongbow that are on tap. The OP should've ejected the Karen and banned her. As the manager, the licence to sell alcohol will most likely be in her name and therefore her responsibility. Also as the licence holder, she has the right to ban Karen. Fortunately, Karens are rare in the UK due to the numerous zero tolerance policies in place towards such entitled and abusive people.

Second story: Start a business is a great idea if done right. But is the fastest way to jump into debt and possible bankrupsy if you do it with no knowledge at all.

First story, "So I spent who knows how long deluding my boss into thinking she's this great chef in order to get preferential treatment, acting like even the most simple dishes are a culinary marvel. Then she got a big head and for some reason assumed I could barely poach an egg, so I put her in her place."
I mean, don't get me wrong, I get it. Dr. Frankenstein had to chase his monster into the frozen wastes to fix his mistake, but at least fess up to being the guy who made that monster.

My dorm had twin beds and there is no way in any possible universe my parents would have shared a twin bed in the same room where I was. That’s just weird. Let alone booting the roommate

Just to put it in before anyone reminds us that kids can drink in the U.K. from the age of 5 (with sensible limits, of course) that's AT HOME. Licenced premises have a legal limit of 18.

I think young people in Italy can drink at the dinner table with family too, right?

@@Kayenne54 a lot of the rest if Europe can drink beer and wine from 16 with spirits at 18. Think it may be 14 in Greece for beer and wine and I think in Denmark it's 14 for beer and cider only. In UK you can technically have glass of wine with food I think from 14 or something but I've never seen anyone do it. Defo the actual law in France and Italy I've seen a kid that looked upon 10 with a very small bit of wine in a glass in a restaurant. With her parents so I don't see the issue.
But mum buying her son an 8% pint of scrumpy...well most places I been to won't even sell 8% scrumpy in a pint to a grown adult. Only sell in half pints as it really hits you. Definitely not a gateway drink as the barman said.
I actually don't see an issue with a young man having one pint with his mum at say 15/16 but you can't ask a licensed premises to knowingly serve to you as they can get in real trouble. It's a personal up to £10k fine for the person who serves them/sells them the booze so keep that sort of stuff at home where it's actually perfectly legal too. Get him a nice kopparberg or a bulmers 4% sweet and fizzy one step up from pop which is obvs what mum and son were expecting.
