      Let's be honest with ourselves. He have been deeply imprinted as children with the Star Wars 'brand', so we have this unconscious pull towards anything involving it. Disney depends on this imprinting to sell products. One must override the attachment to a media title and objectively look at this. It is rationality that tells you this will not be good, listen to it. Or your beloved brand will remain in the hands of those who would destroy it.

    She’ll turn good at the end and realize her ways and then sacrifice herself to save little Luke at the last second when Obi-Wan fails to do so, thereby making her among the most important characters in all of Star Wars, because without her stunning bravery and powerful femininity, Luke would never grow up and the original trilogy would never happen.

    • @JoeMama-yd1ve
      @JoeMama-yd1ve 2 ปีที่แล้ว +33

      Yes, but the original trilogy and the accomplishments of its characters have already been made utterly useless by the sequel trilogy. They left no stone unturned. There simply was no point to any of the first six movies. There was another secret Empire with 100x the power of Sidious's empire that just flew in after the battle of Endor and imposed the exact same role in the galaxy. Han and Leia broke up and they raised space Hitler, Luke TRAINED space Hitler, a man who would be behind the destruction of like 8 planets. So the heroes never actually saved ANYTHING, and they made the galaxy a far worse place. They raised and trained a kid and failed so spectacularly that he blew up 8 planets, murdering billions or trillions of life forms. The emperor didn't really die at the end of Return of the Jedi. Literally every big moment from the first 6 movies was systematically revised to take away all credit for all these characters anyway. You're absolutely right though.

Not to mention knew all 7 forms of the lightsaber fighting styles. He also beat Maul and fought both Assaj and Grievous, killing the latter. The guy has more experience and training and a a male is far stronger than her. But hey, the MaRey Suewalker curse will always afflict Disney's storytelling. And they never get the characters of previous trilogies right. Luke, Han, Leia, Lando, Boba. All character assassinated. All to push up their far inferior characters, especially their MaRey Suewalker insert. Or at least try to.

    • @TheSharkIsWorking_23
      @TheSharkIsWorking_23 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Vader’s aim was turning Luke to the dark side as his master instructed, but he failed and when the time came to kill his son he ended up choosing the light side. Which redeemed his character for siding with Palpatine decades ago while also bringing balance to the force. Then comes TROS, which cannot explain how Palpatine survived two explosions, and gives the real defeat of the dark lord and balance of the force to Rey. Star Wars Episodes 1-6 are centered around Anakin and his journey to tragedy and redemption. Then comes Rey who ends up re-doing Vader’s act of stopping Palpatine in ROTJ, only making sure this time it’s “for real”, which does fuck over Vader’s journey.

That said, knowing who is in the writer's seat, that will likley not be happening, and will just be more of the sludge that's been dripping out of the Disney meat grinder.
    Man, I remember when Disney was all about Animation and wonder. While having it's fair share of issues since it's start and onwards, there was a time and not even that long ago where Disney held alot of respect and deserved it for the work put in. Now it's just a deformed blob assimilating whatever it can into it's mass. Alot of folk often make Mickey look all evil and the like, but I think it's unfair to a character that is as much victim to the ones in control who just do not care about his, or his creator's legacy.

The story keeps Obi-Wan on Tatooine trying to figure out his place in a hostile empire and him trying to watch over Luke. With a solid director and a writer to adapt it and a thoughtful development process. It would’ve made fans happy and made money. It would’ve given Disney time to understand the franchise and given them more time to develop Rogue One and the sequel trilogy. Instead Disney, like a Sith, chose the quick and easy path because they thought they new better than GL. This “Kenobi” series will be another lore breaking bait and switch by Disney & KK that will ruin Obi-Wan & Anakin/Vader like they did every OT character. I like AZ idea especially if it was coupled with some of the rumors of what it originally was supposed to be.
    A mini series of Obi-wan coming to terms with what he had to do on Mustafar.
    We could start the series with Obi-Wan learning of Anakin surviving Mustafar, and becoming Darth Vader as we know him in the original canon.
    The two never actually meet in person.
    But a version of Darth Vader without the helmet/the personification of Obi-wans guilt does hunt him and he fights against it.
    Eventually overcoming his guilt by defeating "Anakin" in a duel.
    Maybe end the show with seeing Ewan McGregor slowly age into Alec Guinness and then replaying the scene where Obi-wan saves luke from the sand people.

      This is so unnecessary and sounds like terrible fan-fiction. Which is also what this show will be.
      How about new characters, new ideas, new planets, new aliens, new space ships, new stories? Both Disney and the majority of fans have made Star Wars feel like an extremely small universe. Enough with the prequel and original trilogy characters. Let's go backwards or forwards in time, create new legends. Enough recycling.

    • @Erikjust
      @Erikjust 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ovidiudiumea4012 Oh i agree i would love nothing more than to go back to the beginning, before the old republic see the formation of the jedi.
      See the original civil war between the light and dark side user.
      See the invention of the lightsaber.
      etc etc etc.
      Or go into the far future where the events of the prequel,ot and sequel trilogy exists as nothing more than pages in a history book.
      That would allow much more freedom as you aren´t really tied to what happened in those 9 movies.
      As nothing that happens in those movies will have any effect on what happens in these movies.
      Sure maybe lukes great great (a hundred times) grandfather might have been a sith.
      Okay who cares this all happened over 3000 years ago.
      By the time of the prequel trilogy none of it mattered.
      Or go into the future same story maybe Ray found someone and got a child maybe she died childless and alone.
      Doesn´t matter that all happened hundreds of years ago.
      Nobody alive at that point remembers it.
      That all being said if they do insist on making an Obi-Wan show.
      I would much rather have it be a 4 episode mini series about Obi-wan trying to come to terms with what he was forced to do.
      Also i would NOT have him face off against the real Darth Vader.
      Have the two meeting at the Death Star for the first time since Obi-Wan left anakin to burn, is fine in my opinion.

    One of the Jedi who was constantly in combat as a general in the Republic.

    This is the man who defeated Darth Maul multiple times, killed General Grievous, and made Darth Vader a quadriplegic. They’re also making why Kenobi left Anakin cowardice and not the care for his friend and former student. He left Anakin where he was because he doesn’t have the heart to kill his friend and doesn’t just storm Vader with some assault plan because he does hope his friend comes back to the “light”. Obi Wan literally LETS VADER KILL HIM because he firmly believes that Luke is the best possible way to show Vader his errors and bring him back to the light.

      I mean letting your friend die a slow painful death and not making sure he didn't survive was a cowardice move, he couldn't bring himself to finish what he started and what he'd rather let him burn to death for possibly hours as hes fueled by rage and excruciating pain which powers his darkside powers which everyone knows can allow the wielder to survive great injuries

    • @xSilentZeroXx
      @xSilentZeroXx 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Obi-Wan doesn't even believe it's POSSIBLE to turn away from the dark side. He didn't even try to talk Anakin down on Mustafar, and he strongly discouraged Luke from trying to talk Vader down as well. Mind you, he deliberately withheld the information that Vader was Luke's father. At no point did he have any intention of telling him.
      The reason he left Anakin there to burn was because he didn't have the heart to finish Anakin himself (understandable), and he believed Anakin was going to die anyway (and he should've; it was only sheer power and will to live that saved Anakin that day). As for Vader killing him, he let it happen because he was going to lose anyway, but figured that he could still guide Luke in spirit form. Guide him into being capable of killing Vader, not saving him.

    • @yung_wise5861
      @yung_wise5861 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah typo about him leaving him on mustafar he is doing because he doesn’t have the heart to finish but I do believe he think Luke can change Vader. That’s why he just chooses death. Obi could’ve escaped, maybe could’ve killed Vader there because then Palpatine just reveals Luke to be Vaders son then Luke joins the dark side and hates Obi Wan for having him kill his father. He could’ve also withheld the info about Vader because it might influence Luke to just become a tyrant alongside his father. Palpatine still exists even if Vader dies so the best option, if Luke isn’t strong enough by himself to take Palpatine, is to use Vaders care for Padme and his son to get the upper hand on Palpatine.
