RTL The Musician my LHS band kid graduated in 2017. Also, in our district (Leander, Vista Ridge, Cedar Park, Vandegrift, Rouse) we all have a very healthy respect for each other. We have one of the most successful districts in the country when it comes to band, and the love we have for our sister schools is no secret. 🥰
When Avon was announced second, everyone in the front ensemble started to cry and hug each other ;-; either that or they were like “Wait, did they call us yet?!” When we were all walking back (which took way longer than it needed to) everyone just started to cry- and complain because we’d been standing for so long our legs hurt. Which is why some of us sat down when they were announcing ranks.. it felt very unprofessional, especially since we were right next to caramel, but my GOD my legs were killing me. It was probably much worse for the winds, since they have to actually march. I don’t know if you can see it in any videos since we’re in the very back.
No thumbs downs, people. These kids earned this GN championship and don’t you dare say differently. Love, a Leander Mom.
