  • The second part of a series covering the creation of a custom historical/fictional hybrid league in OOTP Baseball 24. This episode shows the ways you can edit players, cities and other information in the game through the game itself or by editing the XML files that populate the database the game uses for generating fictional players.
The method used in this video (and the previous) were used to create Figment League Baseball, and you can see the results on legendsport.com - if you are interested in participating, the best way to contact me is through the OOTP forum (forums.ootpdev...) by sending a Private Message to my username (legendsport).

Love the video! Question, if I wanted to make a custom character, lets say for example myself and then add him to a team like the Rockies or any team, is that possible if so how? and can i manage that team?

Thanks. Yes, it's possible to add or edit players. You'll need to be in commissioner mode (select it when you start the league). You can create a player through the Transactions screen - go to the far right, click the 'Actions' button and click 'Create Fictional player(s)' - just create one if you're only adding 1 player. After the game creates the player, click on his name in the free agent list to open his profile. Then click the 'Editor' tab and you can change his information here. One important note is that when you change the name you have to type the new name and hit the 'Enter' key to make it stick. Do this for first and last name. To change his team, scroll down and on the left side is a 'Team Information' area: select the league first, and then the team. That's it. There are probably better posts on the OOTP forum. If you haven't been over there, you should check it out, it's a fantastic resource: forums.ootpdevelopments.com/index.php
