I made one of these. Problem 1) It needs an inch scale or an adjustable stop to quickly know how far to extend the rod thru the bender. 2) It needs an out-feed table to keep the bent rod flat to the next bend(s). 3) Needs a better base as the hex flats are rather small for my 4" Record vise. While bending Ø.200-.125" 1018 steel rod the bender can move in the vise. Cut the hex off and thread it into a large T-nut. Otherwise this is a good starter tool to have fun with as I have had.
