I was born in Canada long after this was off the air, but thanks to my British immigrant grandparents I grew up with a deep love of my British heritage and immersed in the best of British television. so many good memories of watching this show 💕
Its amazing how great these programmes were people have watched them over and over through the years and still makes us laugh. Has to be the best thing ever to be on the tv. ❤
I agree. Its been great for my kids to grow up watching them too. They never get old or boring. OFAH is a timeless masterpiece.

Nothing today comes close to the great acting and scripts of UK shows of the 80s.. kept me sane here in Aussie...

I've forgotten just how good this series was. IS. Nothing has or will come close. Thank you John Sullivan and all the cast for laughs in the past the present and the future. This is and will always be a million times better than the utter, woke, liberal, pathetic tripe the BBC put out on TV these days.
I've watched OFAH 100's of times and its just as funny now as the first time. That's how you know something is quality.

All British comedies are timeless, this one, open all hours, the young ones and the list goes on. Sadly modern comedy doesn’t even come close to the quality of these.

Best ever comedy series of all time. Simple as that and a privilege growing up with it in it’s prime. One of the few series I can watch again and again without getting bored and I am 37 with my 9 year old daughter who loves it.
Dates-Series 6-Jolly Boys. Absolute perfection in a perfect series. Nearly 40th birthday.
Jolly boys is definitely my favourite they ever made! It’s has everyone in it and a great adventure love it

Even though they were fooling about, and playing for laughs, there were moments, such as when Del got the all clear at the hospital and the end of the wedding , when it was clear what a great actor David Jason really is. Best show ever.

the quick little moment of Del fighting the tears after he gets the all clear in the hospital is a distillation of what makes this programme so very special. Del will always remind me of my Dad

Name any British comedy that’s written by other nationalities? ONE comes to mind “fawlty Towers” written by John Cleese with Connie booth who is American and was his wife at the time.

Both very good, but the chandelier event was predictable, the bar sketch wasn't and had the added impact of surprise, enhanced by 'Trgger's reaction - giving extra depth.

I pray for the humour we used to have to come back.
We used to get the best couch we could afford ( often a hand me down ) and TV possible for family times, particularly Saturday nights .
Now it's on your phone to watch in bed.
Mobile phones undid family social life ....."don't disturb me I'm watching the tok tik.". attitude..
To all those old school people ...Those in their 30s up to 90s! We appreciate and miss your humour!

Another series I just started watching. Sadly this was never on the roster on our PBS Network over here in the US so you do it yourself. Meaning watching TH-cam, although this is a great show and worth getting on a DVD box set. Love the British comedies, dramas and crime dramas!

I've watched this since a kid I've watched every episode easily 20 times each and still to this day it still brings joy to my life this will forever be the best comedy ever made
There are about 25 top British comedy series which, to this day, are worth watching over and over again. Among that list, Only Fools And Horses tops the bill. British sense of humour at its very best.

Wasn't the casting fantastic in this series.. Trigger is a legend, Boycie is almost as good, Denzel, Mike all the supporting cast were excellent, but Cassandra, you just look and think yeah pretty but normal, kinda out there, but sensible. You just never question it at all..
