It depends on the music you listen to the most. The Marshall sounds like it’s built for Rock and vocals, it makes you move the head. While JBL is more for Hip Hop and Bose for Techno. At least is kinda my perspective.
I think the Sony needed to be placed stabbing the correct way because of its driver placements. Especially for bass, it needs to be placed with bottoms on top of a table to sound it's best
I agree. In person that's the best way to listen to it for sure. I originally did the audio test with it vertical, but on camera it sounded extremely muffled since the sound projects up instead of forward like the other speakers.
@@dotunmakun I absolutely agree. I was going to say that. I heard the Sony in a store and it sounded better. It uses the table as a soundboard. So this video didn’t do it justice but still I think it might be the weakest of the 4 in terms of sound anyway so the result is still relevant. But it is definitely worth the price being the cheapest.
I also have a SONY SRS-XB100 and it sounds really2x good. Also it is loud for it's size. I don't have the 3 other speakers on this review but XB100 is the mini speaker to beat. What's also amazing for XB100 it can make the surface to vibrate, you can really feel the power of this mini speaker!!!
I tell you: CLIP5 plays LOUD ! It gives nice , rich sound and it is durable[once it fell off a shelf , 2metres, nothing wrong with it now:) ] I own Clip2[but not only] as well and I regard the line my favourite among JBL ones.
When it comes to utility the clip 5 blows all of these out if the water. I regularly ride my bicycle on miles of trail. The clip 5 having the clip is super useful and i can clip to multiple areas on my bike. Its also perfectly loud enough for me to listen to my music while not bothering others. I prefer it over headphones so i can still hear cars and those crazy fast as f$%k road bikers speeding past me. It handles rain mud and dirt with ease, and if i want to hike i can just hook it to my belt loop. You can maje arguments that the other speakers sound better, but the clip 5 is a rugged beast so far.
best speaker review channel, i just saw jbl clip 4 vs sb sony again and was going to see this vid again, both again because they are two most benificial vid of all what i ever see about this topic . But this the vid doesn't have your face so the previous time i didn't known this is your vid, but this time i just saw the channel part and so suprised.
For me these the numbers for quality sounds 1. Marshall willen (High quality detailed clean and louder sound 2. Bose SoundLink micro (clean sound although disappointed for charging port) 3. Sony SRS-XB100 (great for balanced sound, even has a punchy & deep bass) 4. JBL clip 5 (impressive for louder sound)
I think that Tribit StormBox Micro 2 should be added to this list and right before the SoundLink Micro (MicroUSB in 2024 🙈 I sold them nearly 2 years ago for that reason)
I’ve tried the jbl 4 and clip 5. They sound a little harsh at high volumes. Even when you adjust the EQ. Planning on comparing the Marshall Willen and Sony Xb100. If I don’t like those maybe I’ll try out the Bose micro or tribit micro 2
@@gtbigdog3507 indeed! Ive had some amazing small Bluetooth speakers from the UE Roll to the Minirigs 2.1 and the Tribit is a serious contender. It's also the smallest yet best sounding. I had one and thought it was great, however after about 6 months it just quit working. Zero sound would come out of it. I still have it but it still doesn’t work
Hard to beat Marshall, its clarity is superb, maybe creative speakers will compare with it as they sound more natural and specialize in audio/computer tech.
Thanks for the discorey and review of the Willen! I didn't even know that Marshall had left one such a gem nearly 2 years ago! 🤯 I'm even considering buying two to use them in stereo like my Tribit Micro 2 😬

Thank you for another comprehensive comparison video!! For me: 1. JBL 2. Sony, and it works as a speaker phone. No point even considering the Bose because of the micro USB. Totally unacceptable in 2024!!
I sold my Bose because of the micro usb. We need to include the Tribit in the conversation. I do like my Sony and keep it in my home work station because of the phone feature
@@gtbigdog3507 - me too with the Sony's and I have a pair, that stereo set up makes them sound even better!! I think micro USB in 2024 is so outdated and Bose should have changed it by now!! How hard would it be to change it to USB C?!?

Thanks for narrowing down my options! These 4 speakers were in my comparison list and I’m glad to have found your video on them! Now it’s just between JBL and Bose for me; wonder which has better bass when comes to hip hop/ club music. I personally like to use Black Eyed Peas music to test the bass and overall sound as I find their sound dynamic and not focused on a type of sound. But obviously I’m not a sound/music pro but this is just my preference. I wonder if anyone here hast tested based on these and can help me out. Thanks in advance!
That sony speaker shouldn't be placed like that, it should be placed vertically for the passive radiator which is firing downward for the bass output, if you have put like that, then it would be the most bassiest speaker out of this bunch!
I know it's not designed to be laid down. I originally did the sound test with it vertical, and it sounded extremely muffled compared to the other speakers. I Figured facing the driver towards the camera would be the better way to compare.
For me the Marshall Willem was the cleanest sound by far, and the bose was pretty great as well... But at my local best buy the clip 5 was half the price of those and, more importantly, it was purple. 🤷♀️
I think that the comparison here of the JBL Clip 5, Marshall Willen and Bose Soundlink Micro gives the listener a useful impression. The sound check of the Sony XB100, on the other hand, is completely worthless. A central technical feature is the passive radiator which is "firing" downwards. If this feature isn't used the sound spectrum suffers considerably. I still keep my five year old SB12 and know what I'm talking about. Since the Sony SB speakers aren't the loudest, people should use them properly. On the other hand, I could also downgrade the other speakers because they are more directional.
intially I did the sound test with the Sony upright as its designed to be. I only went back and re-did it laying down after listnening to the initial sound test. The Sony sounded like it was underwater compared to all the other speakers.

I'll pick the Sony with all things considered including the mic that I see the reviews giving a thumbs up to. The Clip 5 was a bit irritating.
