I was like so 😮 jaw dropped when I saw the bathrooms cuz our community bathrooms are just curtains. Like I would have noooo problem if we had doors that made me so jealous 😂
I noticed your "Puro 956" painting and want to say that im from the valley too! Ill be heading to Austin in the fall for school as well. Did you come back down throughout the year other than the given holidays and if so, do you recommend it?
nicey080808 I personally did not due to financial issues. BUT, if you are feeling homesick or just have gone through a trash week, I’d recommend going home for a visit. It proves quite refreshing for my other valley friends. I personally didn’t mind stayin in Austin tho you tend to stay too busy to even miss home. (Bring pics of your pets and family to help with homesickness tho)

Hi, I noticed that you guys have a lot of stuff on the walls, but jester said we can’t nail anything to the wall so did you use tape? I just need some advice because I’m moving in to jester west in less than 3 weeks so I need to get my dorm decor ASAP
Rachel Rodriguez they have two big ol corkboards that u can use thumb tacks, but other than that we used command strips and tape haha

how high is your bed lofted? I am submitting a request for my bed to be lofted and I was wondering If yours was on the highest setting?
Maria Cortes we had to loft them ourselves but i did it on the second to highest one
Where did you get your bedside caddy?
I am a veteran survivor for Jester West since I was there long before the renovations. I was in room 509 and it was horrible. The AC was faulty on that wing because in order to keep the final room in that corner cool, my room had to be nearly freezing. We did not have regular beds but sofa beds that were stiff. The view was disappointing, just looking onto Speedway. Having said that I really do miss that campus. It was the best 5 months of my life. Too bad I committed the worse decisions of my life at the same time. Maybe one day I will be able to return. Pro tip: If you are trying to sneak someone in after-hours, use the northwest stairwell and sneak them in on the basement level. The is poor visibility and people are rarely there. Pro tip 2: If you are trying to sneak into another floor but don't want to be suspicious by waiting for someone to open the lobby door, try to use the 2nd floor lobby instead. People walk in and out constantly on that floor and usually don't care about swiping the card and would hold the door open for you. Now that you are in the dorm area just find a stairwell and walk up to the floor that you want.

Who cleans the bathrooms?
On that side of the dorm the bathrooms are community bathrooms that serve as a hub bathroom for a dozen rooms so custodians will clean them. You needed a code to open the door. I remember in orientation I learned the universal code that opens all the bathrooms. J West is a co-ed dorm so....
