    The fact there is debate about videos like this is a testament to a very well designed Arpg.

      @TuboReese That's true, but I would argue that for most games, tier lists devolve into either a predictable meta, or the list is of no use. Looking up videos from Remnant 2 content creators, they vary quite a bit in opinions of what items are top tier and even what builds are top tier. I have different opinions than this video in regards to classes. Thats an indicator that the game is well balanced, and players feel like their choices matter and have an impact on gameplay.

      just started playing today and reached thr ward. now im not aure what to pic. im leaning towards Handler. its a decision between Handler and Challenger. until you reply Ive obviously already chosen something. curious about what you disagree with tho, regarding this video

      @DELTA9XTC HAndler is the best starting class. The auto revive with the dog is OP for new players. Once you are in end game and have most of the classes unlocked, the game is more of an RPG build arpg. As you are going through the campaign, play a build that is based around survival and health regen. Don't go for glass cannon builds until you have many dozens of hours of experience. The game could be overly difficult if you try to use a TH-cam guide for best damage build. You can make very tanky builds if you are ever hitting a wall.

      I am curious when you started realizing you were diminishing in gaming skills? I am 47, and around the age of 36, I noticed my multiplayer FPS skills to drop off a cliff. I stopped playing them at that point as I could barely pull a 1/1 KD ratio when, prior to that point, I would be 2-3/1 KD in multiplayer competitive fps ( I still enjoy singleplayer fps). Then, around 43, I started noticing my skills in any kind of twitch action games to go in the toilet if I had a stressful day or not enough sleep. Greatfully, I have always enjoyed turn based and strategy games. Consequently, those types of games have become my preferred genre. I still can play Souls Like games at a high level, but only when I am well rested and have no real-life distractions. Which is on a rare occasion at an increasing frequency.
      I have been a mainly PC gamer most of my life but I know I am useless now in regards to console online games and a controller.

      I'm a younger player who came over from the Dark Souls and Bloodborne series (and remnant 1 before release), and Handler/Medic was a very relaxing playstyle compared to how fast paced the other games were.
      I love fast pace, but the build feels nice when going for world exploration.

    I did my first playthrough with hunter leveling hunter and gunslinger to 10 before going into other classes-
    While I get the appeal of Handler and Challenger especially for hardcore games, I think when you're starting out and playing on your own the additional ammo drops hunter and gunslinger provide are a godsent. No ammo management, no big investment into consumables and concoctions (which isn't an issue lategame, I know)...
    You just never really have to think about running out of ammo as long as you have hunter and/or gunslinger (until bosses in higher difficulties anyways) and killing things faster is an overall boon (less dodges I need to land in boss fights)
    Overall, I guess it's a matter of taste and build, but like, I do think handler is definitely gifted with the easy to get abrasive whetstone + dog combo...
    To me the challenger and engineer mechanics feel a bit too situational tho tbh, so I would personally rate both of them one tier down.
    While both have amazing traits, their perks are overly reliant on certain conditions. with engineer, if you don't have the turret/heavy weapon out you basically don't have an archetype.
    Similarly, with challenger you better be close for your stuff to work. I'd also rate Invader higher, especially than alchemist based of wormhole alone
    the ability to get out of a tight spot with that skill alone is insane. not necessarily a primary archetype, but highly valuable as a secondary.

    • @wholesomegamer
      @wholesomegamer  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thank you for the detailed input! The Challengers damage falloff is less of an issue than most think, especially after they bumped the range in one of the early patches and you have damage negating and damage buffing skills, so it is a very versatile class with a 100% auto-revive...but yeah, it shines best with a dedicated shotgun build. But how everyone ranks the classes is always highly depended on how you "click" with a class and how it suits your preferred approach/playstyle.

    Invader (with Wormhole) + Challenger (with Juggernaut) with max cooldown and Assassin's Dagger (with the backstab bonus) with Vampire Blade or Edgelord is the most fun build in the game, until you run into a boss you can't reach.

    Explorer should be B tier the drop rates helps alot for farming stuff to become stronger (scrap, crystals, etc) the movement speed can be paired with aim speed and can strafe very fast there are countless enemies that this can benefit from and the movement speed can help zoom out of bad corners or used to dodge long range attacks simply by moving fast. Since this is a solo tier list explorer is great!

    Hi! I am into Remnant 2 since a few days and you are my main source for builds. Great video as usual. It would be a nice addition some more content about the archetypes combos. Do you think Hunter/Invader is viable for a solo build despite having put Hunter in C Tier and in case with which main? I am also interested in crowd control builds. And, in general, what have you found as most fun combo in solo? I know it is subjective. For me usually, variation of mechanics is one of the key of fun. Thank you for your efforts!

      @@mr_kimball Hunter Invader is a combo for experienced players with good aim who prefer mobility and evasion over failsafes like healing, high DR or aggro diversion. A cd-reduction build works well with Wormhole or Void Cloak in combination with Hunters Shroud. But you need good reflexes and good aim to make the best of it.

    For me its the Engineer and the Medic XD
    Got lucky with finding it early on Nerud. The impact cannons AoE is STUPID and lets you kill most Bosses easily (provided you know how and when to roll) As weapons i am Biased towards Bows (in any game, if there is a Bow, it needs to be MINE :D). My Build might not be good by Meta standards, but it DAMN well puts in the work and brought me to the end on the 2nd highest difficulty ^^ But for now i am playing around with the other classes and leveling up.

  • @CentauriTTJ

    We need a tier list for best classes to use or combine together for a Hardcore playthrough. So far though in my own hardcore playthrough Handler/Summoner is amazing. My dog and minions running around gives me time to heal up or run away from encounters that would end my run. I initially started the run just for the Ahanae Crystal ring but I heard the Savior gun that’s the reward for completing Hardcore will get a corrupted version. And if so it’ll probably be like the rapid fire version from the first Remnant.

    • @wholesomegamer
      @wholesomegamer  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Handler to start out with nothing is probably the best choice for a hardcore run. It will make the first few levels a lot easier until you can grab some nice gear. While the dog can be a little useless in some boss fights, it is a huge boost in the early game.

    I feel like the Handler isn't really S tier for solo play. So much of the handler's utility is team oriented, and it's prime perk consumes a resource that, if you're dying you're probably running low on. The howls also aren't that impactful when you're solo, at least not compared to most other archetypes. The dog itself also isn't that useful. It can't take aggro in boss fights which is when you could have used it the most, and it also can't attack a range of bosses, with it's attack not doing much damage. The only place I see it being useful is to buff the damage of the Engineers turret, as a secondary archetype. This is admittedly based on rather limited experience playing the archetype while leveling it (for the trait, and for better relic fragments), plus watching a lot of build videos.

    • @wholesomegamer
      @wholesomegamer  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      I recently spent more time with the Handler and the dog does divert a lot of attention from you in the open world/dungeons, which helps a lot. The Buffs are pretty similar to the Alchemist ones and very flexible, which I like. The biggest downsides are Kinship as Trait and Rugged as a must have = -20 Trait points. Relic charges are never really a problem and the revive is on a very short cd. But yeah, I get what you say...for me it is still S-Tier because of the self revive compared to the other A-Tier classes.

    Generally speaking, all of these list are motivated by personal preference.
    I am an objective player as a whole with no real regard for what archetypes I will particularly use at any given time.
    However, I do know that some archetypes are actually leagues above the rest in terms of general use. Outside of that I can’t really say without putting Bias into the equation.
    Your skill level also matters in these types of videos, so if you a regular player. I wouldn’t recommend just picking what a person thinks is the absolute best. Mainly because their main archetype might not be the best play-style for you.

    • @wholesomegamer
      @wholesomegamer  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you for your detailed input. And I agree, Tier-listings are always based on a certain persons perspective. And I always try to point out that you have to take your preferred playstyle into account. It is always important that you "click" with a class and enjoy playing it. With a video like this I try to give newer players some kind of orientation, what they can expect from a certain archetype if they prefer to play without co-op in mind.

  • @i3deal
    @i3deal 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I think you must play the exactly opposite way I play this game. Reason being the hunter has great survivability. To go invisible and get away from the enemy is a very valuable ability. When i started playing this game. Probably the most important skill a player needs is to know how to roll at the correct time. Then with the correct damage build you should have not an issue with enemies. The game has a DPS shooting range for a reason. Your damage along with your skill building. Is a key part of survivable. I can pretty much 1 shot everything with my 1880 rifle and submachine gun is a AD clearing AEO powerhouse. I think I probably broke this game with my build. Nice opinion. You should probably build into your guns, rings, mods, amulets, and relic. That way when you change your archetype. You still will have survivability.

      Archon is a powerful but niche class, this list ranks survivability, flexibility and other solo player relevant criteria higher then raw damage output for example. And "meta" Apoc builds are really varied, I have seen a lot more then just Archon builds - like undying tank builds Medic/Summoner or classic Hunter/Gunslinger glass cannon and the new Ritualist builds.
