Absolutely superb video mate! Very informative and very professional but also giving a real world review of the car! Not many reviews out there like this one, well done 👍
I had an almost identical Discovery, it was a 2008 HSE TDV6, same colour and interiour. It was an amazing car, took the family all over the country in it. Very comforable and prctical. Unfortunatly once it got to 150K miles it start having expensive problems so sold it, but I will always have fond memories of that car, from the kids sitting on the tailgate at the beach to sqeezing a christmas tree between the seats.
I remember when my dad used to have a 2005 Discovery 3 HSE when I was 10 years old, and I thought it was a brilliant car. Unfortunately he ended up selling it after just 5 months of ownership because of how unreliable it turned out to be. He traded it in for a 2011 Isuzu Denver Max Plus pick-up, bought brand-new from our local Isuzu dealer.
I genuinely enjoy your reviews Barrie. Like a grumpy old man haha but in a great way. What are real world running costs and reliability like for these buddy?
Guilty as charged :-) thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. Hard to answer running cost question really, i suppose compared to other 4 wheel drives i would say that its no better or worse. I think if you can get a 3.0 litre thats the better engine, and also if you dont do a lot of miles, then the extra cost of fuel over a family saloon is well worth it knowing that if you are in an accident with your family in the vehicle there is a better chance you are all going to walk away
I have a GS as it has to work! Ido all my own maintenance less electrics the better? I love mine but am very aware that keeping on top of majors is essential. Drop the oil every 5000 miles is best advice!
The only comment I would make on the driving position is that when your arms are extended to the point that they are straight with no bend at all, your ability to use and turn the steering wheel appropriately is compromised and in a situation where control of the car becomes an issue then your ability to control the car is affected adversely.
thats not the case, watch this video (happened on 01/08/2020) th-cam.com/video/zW5lmWmZzp4/w-d-xo.html and my answer to others that criticise my driving style th-cam.com/video/anG2atZ7EHA/w-d-xo.html i wouldnt sit closer for anything, there is no good reason for me to change the way i drive
Hah... I have thought so many times you are too far back :D No, if you get your shoulder out of the seat to reach the top of the steering wheel it doesn't count ;) If you feel comfortable with this seating it is up to you, but don't think the reason you are doing it is actually relevant - It is well designed system and wont hurt you. And you can measure the 10 inches and see how much space you have from the "danger zone". The "wrists" rule have point - it really gives better control in emergency situation. Any way, the other think I like to mention is (if I get right what you said) that this car is way way over 2 tons - it had kind of two chassis and if I remember it correctly it weight nearly 2.5 tons.
I bought a 2006 Land Rover 2.7L HSE during Feb, and it blew the head 3 days later, it had 113 000km on the meter. Its been stuck with the dealers mechanic ever since, especially during this COVID-19 lockdown in place in my country, South Africa. I've been doing a lot of reading and watching video's about its performance and reviews by different people. It is an amazing car, without a doubt - with its features, handling and comfortability and all...But...…. what do you guys think, should I carry on and give the dealer and the car a chance, and take the car after engine is rebuilt? Can that engine still give me 5-10 years? Please share your thoughts. Thank you.
My advanced driving instructor told me I sat too far from steering wheel. I said shut it or get out! I sit how I’m comfortable, you don’t comment on it.
i spent a few seconds talking about seat position in this video, but seen as you enjoyed it so much that you left a comment have a watch of this one th-cam.com/video/anG2atZ7EHA/w-d-xo.html
@@BarrieCrampton No. Nothing but selling is important to you. Hence you will never be a huge success. You will always need to do crapy youtube videos. Offer real value, on the other hand, and the gifts will pile up at your feet.
Ha ha 14,000 subscribers, 16 million views, cars selling as soon as the video comes out, job offers from all over the world, Autotrader uses my videos to show how dealers should do it, a great income off adsense, a further income from Amazon, consultancy work for other Dealers, so if its all the same to you i will keep doing my crappy videos, i dont want to be tripping up over gifts anyway, thanks for watching

Probably because he didn't take care of his car I bought a 2009 HSE and I've put 178,000km on her and she's stronger than my Isuzu D-Max X-Runner 2018

Does the Land Rover allow me to look down on lower class people?
Definitely 😂😂😂
Yes my dad got one and we look down on everyone
