As an X fan since early 2017, this album genuinely upset me. Skins wasn’t great but the songs still felt like genuine X songs. Imo they should’ve taken the top 7 tracks off skins, a couple from BVF, some other tracks like Proud Cat Owner remix, Run it Back and maybe the outro from MO4 and that would’ve been a decent final album

I'm a big x fan and whilst I agree it was a pretty dissapointing last album and it doesnt portray how good of a musician he actually was. Some of the songs they put out is actually genuinely songs that were just him brainstorming. We have his studio sessions and he finds a melody then works the lyrics differently. I do like bvf, triumph and a select few other songs. It's just sad that songs like numb the pain can never be finished. You can literally hear it if you've heard his studio sessions that he wasn't finished it and it couldve been very good. His songs are all short BTW it was an artistic choice of his as it created fewer supply for the demand and made it non repetitive so that's not really a valid criticism of this album. So many songs in here that if he finished them, changed lyrics, worked on beats and melodies there was serious potential. I'd rather get a project with 3 clean finished songs as x intended them than this. Personally I wouldve preferred if skins was his last album and songs from the vault that were completed dropped as singles. The rest shouldve released as studio sessions as they were intended to be. Not the end product but rather a step in the process. Imo skins has better content like train food, staring at the sky, BAD, difference, and woah
I think y’all forget that unfinished sounding music was Xs style listen to 90% of his unreleased music. Personally I loved most of these songs I did grow up in a rock/rap house so I like the more off sounding songs on here.
Ecstasy vocals was taken from his old version of the same song called ecstasy (2014) that song was lost, found and leaked. in the song x sampled Anneka song and it’s a better then this “renewed version”
