I didn't love it, but I don't think it was as horrible as people say. I do think the final season was rushed and I wish they would have done at least two more episodes. The final battle against the White Walkers happened way too quickly. But some people really hated the ending and I don't get that. I don't think there's anything the writers could have done that would have made everyone happy.

There was for example no foreshadowing for deanerys her "Mad king" behavior from the execution of the Tarly's, to the destruction of king's landing. It was poorly written how Jon returned to the nights watch in the end, because the whole point after season 5 was that the nights watch helped Jon improve as a leader, but he couldnt return because they betrayed him. Tyrion was put aside for the last 2 seasons, and was simply there because he was there before. His betrayal against Varys made no sense. And Cersei didn't get the death she deserved. From season 4 it was lower in quality, because the books didnt help them anymore, and after season 6 it went down as the most shamefull ending to a beatifull and amazing universe as in the GOT series.
Varys is MVP of this table read, basically express emotions of millions people after watching season 8. Season 8 was a huge failure in terms of quality.

I think Jon killing her was the best way her story could end, it was the only way to stop her madness. Jamie and Cersei dying together is also meaningful end, tho I was a bit disappointed that he went back to her instead of having a proper "villain to hero" redemption arc. I will admit that I did not like Bran's arc at all and his character and the "all of this was planned" twist were boring af

I still remember the feeling of the night we watched 8x3 and how it felt like the actual end of the world. It was so crazy how much we cared about these characters and that fictional world of theirs. The fear, the horror, the sadness, the way EVERYONE stopped breathing the moment Arya jumped behind the Night King... Those dudes had no right ruining it for us. But I 100% agree with you. No other show or movie will ever make so many people feel so many feelings towards a screen ever again.

I didn't hate the season, finished it yesterday. I just don't like some points like how the night king dies uneventfully, same for cersi. The clagane brothers fight was done great, I didn't like how somehow everyone knew that aegon killed danaerys. And lastly I don't like that aegon was sent to night's watch. Literally back to square 1.
To be fair, jon snow returning to the wall was something he liked imo. He was never really interested in politics and status, hence why he joined the night's watch and whenever he got promoted he had a "no, that's not what i want. First as lord commander, second as kkng of the north and third time as king of westeros. I felt lik Jon really felt at home with the wildlings, especially with his time with ygritte. I can understand as a viewer it feels like going back to square 1, but in Jon's POV, i think it's what he actually really wants, to be free. The small leaf growing in the snow was a bit of symbolism that his duty is over, he can finally have some peace outside of the political realm. But yeah, can understand you a bit. If the final season was fleshed out a bit more on a slower pace and we still end up with the same results, it would have been a much stronger season

As for aegon's conclusion, he never really wanted to join the watch in the first place, he just did it because he had to and was promised an explanation by ned. Literally the first episode. Taking him back to night's watch but as a punishment and without his old friends is a slap in the face to both his time and the viewers. If I could change 1 thing, it would be that no one finds out he killed Danaerys.

For me, my tattoos cover up my self harm scars AND make me feel better about the parts of my body I don’t like because I can now look at them and go “oh wow! That looks amazing!”. It’s not impulsive, but even if someone is getting them on impulse, that’s really none of your business and you should keep your thoughts on other people’s bodies to yourself.
