@JasonJarrettUSMC 2016-2018 Legacy, outbacks, imprezas have a glitch where the starlink continually tries to access a 3G network which is no longer available...causing the battery to drain again and again. And subaru sent out a notice to update starlink at a dealer to fix the problem (seems removing the starlink app like this video discusses would be the same fix)
Im not in America, got a subaru XV 2018, and it says starlink when i start the car. My Subaru app is not available in my country. Was just wondering whether this has anything to do with SpaceX Starlink from Elon Musk for internet anywhere in the country?
is it true that Starlink tracks your driving and shares this info with insurance companies?
When I remove this, will it stop draining my battery? Or is that something else causing a battery drain?
Depending on what year your car is. I had a 2015 that was doing that and it happened. It had something to do with the hatchback.
That app wouldn't have anything to do with draining your battery. The issue has to be something else.

No, it's not connected to Elon's Starlink.
@@JasonJarrettUSMC thx
What is the charge for getting this update done at the dealership?
So what model/model year are you looking to update? What mileage do you have?
I am in Canada and have a 2023 ob premier with 30000km. I would like to know as well
If you're still within the 3 year 36,000 mile warranty will be no charge.
What was included with the last firmware update?
Fix for AppleCarplay & removal of Starlink app are the main things. I'm sure there are probably some other bug fixes as well.
I have a forester 2017, is there a restriction on how old you car is?
Wouldn't work with yours. The main point of the update was fixing an issue with wireless Apple CarPlay, which your Forester wouldn't have.
The Starlink app will not go away
