definitely my fav Dwight song. The one thing I like about so many country songs, you can interpret them in so many different ways and be right about them all, they speak to everyone in many different ways
Thanks so much Roger for the super super request. Been a Dwight fan since his debut and he never gets old. Always loved this one. Thanks Don for the terrific reaction, and yes 9.5 indeed!!!!
Great, great, great request Roger and you're right on point when you called this the 'Dwight Song'. Definitely my favorite Dwight song among the many great ones he has . So thanks for this donation request. My take is the whiskey reader all the other physical hurts but it cannot ease the mental anguish he is in. That's my take great reaction and rating Don.---#UTRCM
I’ve always liked Dwight, but this, and “I sang Dixie”, always got to me. When her memory comes back, no whiskey, and he’s soberish….then he tries to drown her memory to keep from hurting, but finds even that’s useless…. But either way, I love the totality of the song, and I think his voice tells us anything we missed with the words…..thanks again, Don
Thanks Roger had never heard this one. Thank you and Don Love Dwight. In an interview he said he didn't drink or do drugs. Also said I'll try to never do anything that will hurt my mom and dad

I think the idea is that the whiskey would generally ease his pain and misery, but her leaving is stronger than the whiskey can handle.

Dwight also recorded this one with just him and his guitar - all acoustic.
